smart not to go all digital

I was reading an article about Sony's decision not to go completely digital with the Vita. It makes a lot of sense. Not everyone has the broadband capabilities to download some of the games. And they also make a good point about how some people like talking to a live human being who actually knows about the games. It's always nice to have a choice.

Some people don't trust all-digital things, too. I know I don't! I'd like to have at least a memory card or something so I can keep a copy of my games somewhere off the device, just in case it dies.

What they need to start having is what Verizon does with their phones. Instead of a memory card they upload all your info and save it. It's like online backup but part of your subscription.

As much as I love technology, I'm not sure I'll ever have that much trust in anything digital. I guess that's why I'm not psyched like a lot of people about "the cloud." If I can see it or hold it in my hand, that's what I prefer.

That would be neat! One reason why I don't like downloading digital-only games is because I worry about something crashing, or I upgrade consoles and it's gone. If I had an off-site backup of my games (with saves!), linked to a credit card or something, I'd be less worried!

You made a good point about some people lacking the broadband capabilities to download some of the games. Unfortunately, I have experienced this problem with other consoles. Congratulations to Sony! Not going in the completely digital direction with the Vita was an excellent decision.

I would not want it if it was all digital. I'm not planning on buying it anytime soon though. I do think Sony made the right choice though by not making it all digital. It would deter some people from buying it.

I agree that it should not be, for the fact that people that don't have internet won't be able to get new games without searching for wifi
