So little games right now.

Right now having the PS4 seems like a waste of potential with so little games released. I remember the PS3 had tons of games to play when it was released. The PS3's launch titles consisted games of different genres like Genji, Gundam Crossfire, and Resistance.

I agree with you the lack of games to play is frustrating however the games out now are of such a variety that it hits most of the genres I enjoy. Madden, assassins creed, call of duty, nda2k14.... etc not to mention the free games resogun and contract. I think it's just us being impatient and wanting to play all the games scheduled to be released. Atleast I know I am. Don't worry thou. You will be happy you have the console come one year from now. Good things come to those who wait and it would seem we don't have a choice.

Yep,it will take time for games to start being released,but then I guess its always like that when you get a console at launch.The wait seems longer for sure.

Yeah, it's true. It's a new console I just feel like I want to use it all the time but can't right now because there aren't many games yet. It does seem pretty far away right now until new games are released.

What I've noticed is that they've merged the previous generation releases with this one. There's so many games that are being released for both consoles and I think that's the big difference. The hardware jump doesn't seem as drastic as it was from PS2 --> PS3. Hopefully they'll have a bigger library soon. I'm excited to see some new IPs.

PS3 Launch (2006): Call of Duty 3, Genji: Days of the Blade, Madden 07, Marvel: Ultimate Alliance, MS Gundam: Crossfire, NFS: Carbon, NBA 07, NBA 2K7, NHL 2K7, Resistance: Fall of Man, Ridge Racer 7 (I want everyone to notice this...last time RR was in a PS launch line up. Europe and Australia had a few more because it was released a few months later. Now get ready for the monster launch...

Fewer titles for the Europe release, but it had some different ones thrown in.

PSX North American Launch (1995): Air Combat, Aquanut's Holiday, BATTLE ARENA TOSHINDEN, Jumping Flash, Kileak, NBA Jam TE, Rayman, Ridge Racer, SF: The Movie, Total Eclipse Turbo

Same case with Europe. PSX had nothing but Rayman, RR, NBA Jam, and Toshinden going on. The thing with the jump between PSX and PS2 was that multiplatform games weren't a big thing outside of maybe sports titles. By the time of the PS2-PS3 (sixth generation into seventh generation), generational multiplatforms were a regular thing so you needed something you couldn't find on the other.

...of course, that something was usually nothing special or nothing you haven't played before in a particular series and you could've honestly hung around in generation seven a little longer (or what Rock-et-Man...ROCKETMAN said).

Launch always sucks, be ready for at least a year of NO GAEMS before things start getting good.

Xbox is the opposite, amazing launch but then they start bleeding exclusives and losing support, it seems!

What I learned from the launch list SpaceTiger posted: you WILL have shooters, sports games, and racing games at launch.

Yep thats why i'm holding off for now. Once different games come out that I can't get on my PC, then my intrest will peak. Maybe a new exclusive which is actually different and a game changer comes out then I will buy one.

It's really best to sit and wait even if you already have a PS4. If you've been getting consoles for the past 2 generations it should be known that there will be nothing even with all the games being hyped up at that year's E3 and other expos. Those are generally games for the following year anyways.

Yeah launches are never really that great and it hurt Sony that some of the big names like Watch Dogs got delayed. It wasn't necessarily a bad launch because Resogun is my favorite game on the PS4 right now but you have to give it to Microsoft because I've been hearing great things about Dead Rising. Still Sony has a lot of exclusives to look forward to in the Spring, so really I look at this as a chance to enjoy my PS3 for a while longer with used games that I haven't played yet.
