So now that the ps4 has been out for a minute, does it live up to your expectations? Is it what you expected or is it better or worse. Are you more agravated at what it can't do or happy and excited with what it can and will?

It is a big disappointment so far (same as Xbone) but you really will not be able to judge the console for several years. It is all about how good the big games (especially exclusives) are when they are released. Companies like Naughty Dog, Quantic Dreams, Sucker Punch, and the different Sony Development Studios are going to go the longest way in determining how good the PS4 is.

I personally found the Uncharted Trilogy, The Last of US, Infamous 1 & 2, and Metal Gear Solid 4, Ratchet and Clank the best reasons for the PS3. There were a lot of multiplatform games on the PS3/360 that were very good such as Mass Effect 1 & 2 (Did not care for 3), Assassin's Creed 2, Grand Theft Auto 4&5, Diablo III, etc.

The truth is the hardware between the PC/PS4/Xbone is so similar that it is about the games produced now. The console can only be as good as it's best games.

From the reviews I've been seeing, the reception seems to be lukewarm. I think it has a lot to do with a few of the major titles being delayed, so no on has been wowed yet or kept as busy and amazed as they imagined to be. I hope the other games catch up soon, I personally don't have much interest in the current ones.

There's not much special here to me. The main ability I'm liking from PS4 is Twitch. After that, it's all about the games.

If drive club, infamous, and watchdogs were out (and a PS4 intended gran turismo 6) I would be able to let you know. Games aside, it has a cool flashy light, the DS4 is better, and it works with my Vita like the PS3 was supposed to.

Games aside, what do yall think of the actual console and it's abilities?

The features and abilities aren't bad at all. The main thing I'm digging is streaming. That's honestly the newest thing going here that makes this different from PS3. Beyond that, games make the console.

Yeah streaming is amazing when watching other people play but sucks that all movie purchases are also steamed. Can't watch movies you own if Internet is down or slow. I know it's early but the ps4 , other then a few awesome additions, seems to do less then the ps3. I will say however I'm truly excited to see where the ps4 goes as I know they will correct things with patches.

its pretty good BUT i didn't realize how annoying the no DLNA would be for me. Also the lack of games is annoying but soon that would be cured.

Im with you on that one. I know the console will be amazing once it has both feet on the ground and is running full speed. Just wish it would hurry and get here already.

The games are okay, I for one am having a blast with Warframe but I know the titles aren't going to be strong for at least another half-year.

I think as far as hardware/software goes, the touchpad is a very subtle and welcome innovation to a controller design that had almost been exactly the same since the Playstation's inception.

So far, so good, I'd say in summary. As most are agreeing, it's still very early doors and has barely been out a month. The games available at the moment don't come close to scraping the surface of what the actual console can offer, watch this space I'd say - sleeping giant!

It's not that amazing if you compare the generation jump from Playstation 1 to 2 or even from the 2 to the 3. It was far more amazing!
But this one is good too, and definitely better than the last one. Let's just wait for more games...

Yeah, it's just a wait for games to roll in, whatever patches for functionality, and new services that come along. I'd say look at it this way: it's fairly lukewarm now so the only place for it to go is up. The PS4 can only improve from here during it's generation span.

We're not going to have a Sega situation where a bunch of attachments are released to make the console better, but also make it look like a miniature Voltron.

Are we talking games or console? I actually think third party gave both consoles a boost. I am enjoying AC4, Killzone didn't click for me. The SP is a mess, very bland although probably the best looking on either console. The PS4 suffers from the same thing the Xbox One does, there are features we had that didn't make launch which it inexcusable. No DLNA support, not even from disk? The UI needs some work and some games lack a game chat. That said, I am sure it will come along.

The UI is fine, it operates similar to the PS3's so it's familiar to me. The option button was initially confusing to me since I was used to the start/select buttons.

As for games: The Elder Scrolls Online and Infamous Second Son are the two nearest games I'm looking forward to. I think if Second Son had been out at launch the features would've had a game that made them pop more. The ones we have now pretty much play as they would on PS3 and if they were made for the PS2 from a gameplay/mechanics viewpoint.

That's true. A lot of people say this is an amazing leap, but that's just wearing Playstation goggles. PS1 to PS2 was a huuuuuge leap and PS2 to PS3 was a huuuuuge leap. The leap was more on the console itself, graphics, etc. but not so much gameplay. Like Tiger said, games are generally played the same way as they have been. Button mapping is still the same: X confirms, triangle generally cancels, etc. But all the neat stuff that PS3 can do is a big difference.
