Yeah it sometimes seems that the people who bring the ideas to the table don't know anything about the common gamer. So many games have been made where the only purpose was to extend the franchise and barely any thought was put into the actual game or the poor dev team that was assigned to it.

Nah. They know they want a game made and damn who has to make it or what it will be. Just get the game out before next season.

Developers aren't going to learn a thing about doing licensed games. What they can do is learn to make ones that don't suck because licensed games aren't disappearing.

If that happens I would get that paranoid feeling that devs are watching the forum and pulling ideas (and not the good ones you see floating about here).

Listen, I love Sons (though I do think that season 1 and 2 were the high of the show) but it would not in anyway make a good game. At least I don't see a path for it, maybe something more story driven like a TellTale story would be good. But it would be easy for them to screw up and make this an FPS, that would not be a good idea.

I think the show has the potential to become a pretty awesome game. All depends on who's making it though.

The potential for an awesome game is there, it just isn't high at all. The source material is definitely there, though.

True if we go buy potential then it is there, a good company like Telltale (who are super busy with Walking Dead, Game of Thrones (I still can't believe this is a thing), and The Wolf Among Us) or Naughty Dog take up the mantle then my hopes for this would be high. But I'm doubtful. Unless FX and Kurt Sutter understand the gaming industry and what company to go with there is a good chance that this will go wrong.

I sincerely doubt this would happen, but I wouldn't be all that surprised. I like the telltale games version of The Walking Dead despite not being a fan of the show, but this might actually work. It's just that most games based on TV shows or movies bomb because they're completely different mediums at the end of the day.

I think a game that comes along years after the end of the series and is based on the setting of Sons of Anarchy as a kind of continuation could work. Games that pop up as the series is ongoing doesn't jive. Scarface: The World is Yours is an example of a good game based off of a movie, but it was based on after Scarface ended.

That makes sense, the reason why The Walking Dead works is because it's in the universe, it's the same reason why the Game of Thrones game would work. The universes of the games are diverse enough that it doesn't matter that you don't have the characters. The Wolf Among Us is a preview before the comics, so if a company like Telltale did Sons of Anarchy, it would have to be after the show ends or and this would be my wish: a prequel. I want to know everything about how John Teller died and Gemma and Clay took over.

That would work, but it's likely that if a game was made they would try and squeeze it in between seasons and become a throw a way game for a hit show like the Prison Break game, Xena and Hercules fighting titles, etc.

If it's in the hands of Telltale then I would trust it. Sons of Anarchy as a game would work better if it was a story driven title. I'm liking what LegendofLore said, if we do a prequel: the story of John Teller and why Gemma and Clay killed him. I mean the full story from the founding to his death then I would be into that. But it just wouldn't work as an FPS to me.
