Sony confirms: 1 account with PS+ will let the other accounts on PS4 also play online

One of the things I have a keen interest in is the multiplayer being behind a paywall. Specifically if multiple subs were required for same console access with multiple IDs. Via Twiiter:

I have a question. If i buy a playstation plus membership to play online will the other accounts on my ps4 be able to play online?

This a relief. Not that I like it but having both consoles would get really expensive otherwise.

This is good news. As I've said a few times before, I have no problem paying for PS Plus to access multiplayer online. The benefits certainly out-weigh the negatives.

I wonder how flexible it is. I have 2 360's because I travel and if I want to play with my Son we need 2 live ids. I can see myself getting a second next gen console for the same reason at some point. I hope he can play on the main one and I can still play while traveling. Microsoft seems to be doing Live Gold sharing which allows 2 others to play Live on the same console.

Great news. As I said before I personally don't any issues with PS+ as I see it as one of the best deals in gaming at the moment. Good on Sony for doing their best to make sure that everything with the PS4 goes smoothly when it is released. They have been making all the right moves so far, so I'm hoping they can keep the momentum up until the PS4 is released and even after.

That does solve all the problems with consoles shared by the family.
Another good move by Sony, let's just see how much they can keep up until release.

I don't mind the paywall, and it's probably mostly because Sony has been pretty cool about it so far. They've been making good enough decisions about it to make most of their consumers feel respected. And decisions like these only add to the fact that they it at least feels like consumers are buying something instead of feeling like too much of "just a requirement".

That's good, but it doesn't affect me personally. The only time I ever have multiple accounts accessing the online services of a console is when my friend and I play a game on Xbox Live. He just uses a guest account, though, so I guess it isn't exactly the same thing. But still, this is good news all things considered.

That is some wonderful news. It's regrettable that Sony is charging this time around, but I can understand why. And, so far, I haven't heard of them trying to pull anything skeezy (the same cannot be said for Microsoft).

I just noticed this information! I'm so excited about this. Having a couple extra accounts on my system will give my sisters a chance to use it when they are in town without messing with my stuff. That's pretty important for households that have a lot of people in it. I also wish this was the case when I had a lot of roommates. My only wonder is if PS + will increase its price.

It is normal that Sony did this. The opposite would have been frowned upon by Sony.
It is confirmed that, but it was already obvious.

This was the case on the PS3. I just want to see how it will benefit the PS + on the PS4. Announced they will surely much more at Gamescom. I hope to see Gaikai.
