Sony Denmark throws hat into Crash Bandicoot rumors

Okay, I know this rumor diea bit but once again we have another Sony faction throwing their hats into the ring and trying to drive me nuts. Sony Denmark has put on their official twitter a picture of Crash once again fueling the rumor that maybe Sony has reacquired the license from Activision who should own everything Crash. This is working my last nerve and I need confirmation.

Sony Denmark teases the masses

As you can imagine this has led to rumors that the IP has been sold off behind closed doors and that this mystery buyer is Sony. Should this be the case there is a reasonable chance we could see Naughty Dog develop a Crash Bandicoot reboot which would jump and spin its way over to our PS4′s in the future.

Naughty Dog is apparently working on two PS4 projects at the moment, one believed to be the next Unchartered game; and the other is unknown. Whilst it may be wishful thinking to assume this is a new Crash game, it would certainly be a hugely popular choice with fans. Sony said we can expect big things in 2014, lets hope that this is one of them!

All in all, this does sound like a promising rumor. It wouldn't surprise me at all since, as the quote above mentioned, it would be a widely popular game to bring to the PS4.

I bet Crash will be announced at E3 to a wave of applause.

...perfect world scenario: Crash and then Tomba are announced and will get the same "Woooooow!" reaction that Super Mario 64 got.

People have been clamoring for Crash. If he returned in his own adventure (no racing karts, no fighting games, no nothing just 90s-style platforming in Gen8) that would be worth announcing at E3 2014.

SXB has a point that Crash seems like something that could be announced before time. I'd settle on the middle ground of "leaked" before E3 and confirmed at the Expo.

I would think that they would announce it at E3. But someone from Sony or Activision (because I doubt that Naughty Dog will) needs to come out and tell us once and for all what's happening with the ip. Are we really getting a new Crash or is just another way for them to toy with something that is never going to happen. Kinda like Reggie wearing a Samus pin when we know their not working on a new Metroid.

Retro are usually extremely quiet about their projects and Nintendo did say Metroid is a priority. I can see something on Metroid being announced next year. With Crash, it's just being dangled out there to test the waters for reactions without committing to putting a lot of resources into it full on.

Sony you big tease! I would love to see Crash come back though, I spent a great deal of my teen ages playing the games, specially crash team racing. I just wish that we would get definite answers whether they are bringing him back or not.

If they make a new Crash game, I will pre-order it the second it's announced. Crash was the first 3d game I ever played on PS1, I was about 8 years old and my god, that came I spent so many hours on.

I want to rip my hair out in frustration. I want Crash Bandicoot but all we get is teases. First the rumors, then Activision removes all references from their site, and then we get teaser Amazon pages. And on and on it goes until we want to lose our minds. I want someone to just come out and say that either Crash is or is not happening.

I actually believe Crash is in the works, but like SpaceTiger said it's a Kingdom Hearts situation of gauging reaction...which is silly because people want Crash back. Also like SpaceTiger (or maybe Tomba) said in the Vita section, titles like Crash and Tomba are games that Sony could really use to get their video game brand out there better since those two series are ones that would warrant an animated series, action figures, etc. and reach out to all ages and not just the Teen and Mature audiences most games are geared towards.

Basically Tomba and Crash should've been Sony's Mario, Kirby, Donkey Kong, Sonic, Alex Kidd (eww), Mega Man, Pikachu, etc.

I never understood why Sony let Crash go. I understand if Naughty Dog decided to go in another direction, but Crash was still a good seller and could have really become the face of Sony and help them during their slumps. I'm at least hoping that they got the license back because Activision would rather have let the series die.

Crash would've been great to prop PlayStation up when waiting for the other exclusives. While I dig Tomba and Spyro way more, I could've gotten into Crash as the PS mascot that Sony was pushing for a bit. If you have a Crash game at launch or within that launch window and say another in the middle of that console's run, that would've been good. Just pace Crash like that.

Crash should really be a part of PS4 in his original role--not in a racing title. An actual Crash return would be as close to a StarFox/F-Zero/Altered Beast/ActRaiser return that Sony could get on PS.

Basically Tomba and Crash should've been Sony's Mario, Kirby, Donkey Kong, Sonic, Alex Kidd (eww), Mega Man, Pikachu, etc.

Ewwww...Alex Kidd.
