With quick and expedited shipping offered to those 0.4% of gamers who are experiencing defective Playstation 4's. Sony will be offering this service without hassle or money out of pocket. All you have to do is call Sony Support to ensure you get the service you need and all your worries fixed. A quote from Sony themselves:

“There have been several issues reported, which leads us to believe there isn’t a singular problem that could impact a broader percentage of PS4 units,” a Sony representative tells Game Informer. “We also understand that some units were reportedly damaged during shipping. The number of affected PS4 systems is less than 1%, which represents a very small percentage of total units shipped to date and is within the expected range for a new product introduction. We understand the frustration of consumers that have had a problem and are working with them and our retail partners to help troubleshoot issues and ensure affected units are exchanged”

Wow it's under 1% of defective playstation 4's? I thought it might be higher since they sold over 1 million units. That puts my mind at ease :D

That's a bit scary, that they're multiple reasons why these PS4s are failing. I guess defects is to be expected at this point, though. As long as it doesn't reach RROD levels, I'll be okay.

Yeah man, it's getting pretty crazy now-a-days when something new launches. Whether an update or a new console or iPhone, something happens and the companies have to be quick to fix it all. It's technology! If you can make it you should be able to make it without any freaking errors -_-

This is really great news and shows that Sony is on top of this issue. I remember how much flack Microsoft got during the whole RROD issue and how it seemed like they decided to not even acknowledge the issue and left people hanging which did not endear me to the Xbox 360. Looks like Sony took paid attention to that debacle.

Its good Sony is acknowledging the issue and not disregarding as MS did with the RRoD on release.

Yeah, agreed. They weren't too great with DREs on the PS2, and even the YLoD on the PS3s weren't handled that great, IMO. But with all the things they've done right, it would be stupid to let defective consoles ruin their PR. That's sorta how MS was with the 360. IMO, they did a ton of things right. They had a console that was very powerful, easy to develop for, with amazing online capabilities, all for $200 cheaper than the PS3, but they got a bad rep for all the defective units. They still ended up doing great, but the last thing you want is people thinking your $400 console will fail on you and you'll be screwed.

It was like Microsoft was all "We make billions upon billions, who cares if you got RRD? lulz". Sony is like, "We got hacked, gave you free games and more as well as public apology, we f up, we make it right". It's why I've been a Sony guy since December 11th, 1994.
