Sony reports Wireless headset support coming soon

I know that some PS4 owners were disappointed by the fact that wireless headsets weren't supported at launch. I mean even though the PS4 did come with a wired headset I can imagine that's not what people wanted. Well Sony has come out and said that bluetooth and USB wireless headsets will be supported in early 2014. So sometime in the January/February time period.

Wireless Coming Soon

When they are talking about wireless ones they appear to be saying 'only the official wireless ones' meaning the Pulse gaming headset for eg so any other 3rd party bluetooth headset still wont work on PS4.Their is no mention of that. USB wired ones yes, which is good for me as thats mostly what I use,a wired Sharkoon 5.1 Digital True Surround gaming headset.

How is it possible, that in this day and age, wireless headsets aren't just the standard!? I am a little shocked to see this, since I don't ever use headsets, so I wasn't aware.

Bluetooth and USB is acceptable, though. That also means folks don't have to go and spend cash on a special PS4 headset. Though if they create one, I'm sure sales associates will be able to convince parents otherwise...

Yeah, it seems like only official 'we're behind this product' headsets might be the only ones that are integrated with the PS4 though I'm hoping that Sony doesn't use this. I have a certain headset that I like to use and I don't really want to have to buy a special one that is endorsed by Sony. We'll see what happens when they finally update and integrate wireless support.

I have the sony PULSE headset. I plugged the AUX cable into the controller then I turned on the setting so it would output all the sound through the controller, and chat. Works great! The headset doesn't even need to be on for the sound and mic to work! I love this headset!

I'm sure this whole thing was about making more money by selling those special headsets. Don't bluetooth headsets work fine? Nothing else is needed! Unless the headset comes with a free game :D

That's great news! I'm glad to see they are slowly fixing the minor aspects of their model, and as for their headsets being proprietary, as long as they function well and are comfortable, I'm alright with it. Hopefully, they don't make them too expensive, though.

Yeah I bought it because I read that it would be compatible, but I love it just for listening to music. The other cool thing is that (I think) you can plug the stick into any powered usb slot and use the input jack to send any audio wireless to the headset. Nice feature. And yes I love that it doesn't have to be powered to use as a headset.

Someone asked earlier but for now it's only input headsets that work. Sony was pretty clear that you couldn't use wireless or bluetooth headsets yet. Though they did say that they were working on making sure that support would be included soon, so people are just waiting for the update. The question I guess people are asking is which headsets will be supported.
