SP campaign

Oberon

, , The Enforcer, ,
Just finished the SP campaign on this.
Overall was OK,much of the visuals were very good, sound was good too, controls worked well.
I thought it was cool when you picked up the audio log tapes and played them it played through the Dualshock 4 speaker, anyone who hasnt played it may think 'big deal' but the thing it really did add a small bit of realism to it,what I mean by that is that it felt like you were walking along and actually picked it up as its now playing in your hand..simple effect but worked well.
If you are have headphones plugged in to the controller then ofcourse it comes through the headphones instead.

The touch was put some use with diff options for your 'owl'. Worked OK once you got used to swiping it.

OK,the actual campaign was OK.occasionally I felt I didnt know what to do next but a simple press on the pad shows were to go next if lost.
There were a few instances were you were still not sure where to go exactly so you knew you must use the 'zipline' so pointed that in a few diff areas hoping Id pick the right one eventually..which you will...lol

I thought the ending really did
come after killing the main guy and the credits started to roll but then it stopped and you had to play the stealth mission as the girl right at the end
.

So,to those that have played it what are your thoughts on the campaign? Did you like it or were there same bits that irritated you? The gliding bits maybe? The slightly platforming bits maybe? lol

It was an OK campaign, nothing more.

The multi-player makes this game there's no doubt about it.

It was a fairly short game in general and I thought they could have made more of the cities! They give the impression of free roaming levels ... but they're not.

There might be 3 different ways to go, no more than that.

It still felt restricted at times.

It's great to look at and it is fun to play, but it did feel monotonous by the end. The things they put in to break it up (like the free falling stuff and the flying), were frankly pretty poor.

I wouldn't buy it based on the strength of the single player campaign alone, not at current prices! Borrow or rent it from somewhere, complete it in a couple of days at most then give it back if you only want to play the single player.

Like I keep saying though, if you're playing online definitely buy it.

Great online play, up there with BF3 which has been my favourite FPS up to now.

A few different objectives in each game, varying game modes, perfectly designed maps, loads of upgrades to unlock and plenty of customisation options.

They've obviously spent more time on the multiplayer than the campaign.

Which is the direction of all FPS games, anda lot of games in general these days....much to my dismay haha

That's certainly true until you look at bioshock or dishonoured.. they both had amazing campaigns!.

Having said that I spend much more time on multi player than single so can't complain!

I think I'm only like 25 percent into the campaign and had stopped since. I just have the heart to complete the campaign, I find the pacing seriously uneven. There are so many dragged out parts where I just run from one place to another without a single enemy. These parts make me bored and sleepy. I'm not a fan of online multiplayer so haven't touched on that either. Right now, I kind of regret getting the Killzone Bundle. Should have used to money to buy a different game.

Bioshock was fantastic. haven't played Dishonoured but it always looked great to me too.

More FPS games like Bioshock would be something

Definitely pick up a second hand copy of Dishonoured if you can ... I don't think it ever got enough praise tbh, was a fantastic game.
