Star Wars Battlefront ?Likely? Coming in 2015 - IGN

To coincide with Episode 7. Considering the deal was signed in April, about 2 years worth of development.

Hopefully they pull something good from this seeing as it's been quite a while since the second Battlefront and we'll have to wait two more years most likely. I really hope they don't make this to similar to Battlefield or just another run of the mill shooter with Star Wars skins, but I guess I'll have to wait and see what they do with it.

I have been waiting for a new battlefront since I first played it on ps2... Imagine what dice can make with this game... Massive maps online with 64 or more players on one game with the option to go from spaceship to spaceship or work togheter in vehicles.... WOOW !

Geeze, it's going to be hard to wait that long. I have a lot of faith in DICE though, and I love the franchise, so there's no doubt it will be worth it. I'm simply surprised it's taken them this long. Really, there's enough hype that they hardly need to advertise, but there's enough of a gap since the last one that DICE can really play with how to update it. Customizable guns? Customizable characters? Tons of vehicles? Skill systems? There's so much they could add, and it would all be amazing. Whatever DICE does, it will surely be tasteful and of highest possible quality.

I loved this game on the PS2. It was amazing. Hopefully it is as good or even better as the PS2 version. I think it has to be my most favourite game of all time.

For one side, i can't be excited because i know they will manage to screw the game somehow (it's EA we are talking about here), but one another side, IT'S BATTLEFRONT, I LOVE THAT GAME!

It's time to pray for a miracle on this one!

It's a great idea to release right after the release of the movie since it will get much more fans after that, although Star War already as an huge fan base most kids now ways know very little about that saga and this way after seeing the movie and how good it is ( I hope at least ) they will want to buy the game. They're marketing genius!

Too bad for us that will have to two more years for the game, can't wait to try it out.

I get that they're aiming to release it after Episode Seven, that only makes good sense, the game is there to make money after all- and we of course will want lots of players in those lobbies for many years. But I can't help but wish that this had been announced later. Two years is far too long to wait... all that anticipation will be unbearable!
