I'm posting this because I know one member here in particular will love to read this (*cough* The Unlosing Ranger *cough*) :)

Japan Studio's Masaaki Yamagiwa has revealed to PS Blog some new juicy details about the recently announced "Bloodborne":

Bloodborne is set in "a dark and terror-filled gothic world," an "ancient, forgotten city called Yharnam, known for an old medical remedy."

Over the years, many hopeless and afflicted people have made long pilgrimages to Yharnam in search of help," said Yamagiwa. "As the main character, you are one of these travelers. "

"However, you find that Yharnam is also cursed with a horrible endemic illness. You must navigate the perilous streets of this city, fighting off nightmarish creatures, malformed beasts and deranged mobs stricken with this horrific illness. Face your fears as you discover the secrets and mysteries of this dark and horrific world where danger, death and madness lurk around every corner."

About combat: "In Bloodborne, the combat is based on intense life-threatening battles. One of the ways we are bringing that sense of danger to life is by keeping the deep strategic elements from Demon’s Souls, while also transitioning from the passive and block-and-attack style of Demon’s Souls to a quicker, more offensive and active combat style with close-range weapons and guns."

"I hope to be able to share more about our online features later this year, but I can say that we are developing new kinds of online experiences that allow users to share their adventures," Yamagiwa added. "We also look forward to giving fans new ways of playing and sharing thanks to the PS4 system’s Share capabilities."

Hell yeah, son. Have you seen the screenshots in the European blog? Them graphics look fantastic. From's unique style and designs on a next gen platform... godlike. And the setting is fantastic, great switch from the medieval fantasy of the Souls games!

Edit: I was on mobile so I couldn't link it but this is the post with the screenshots http://blog.eu.playstation.com/2014/06/10/details-bloodborne-coming-exclusively-ps4-2015/

This game looks wildly gorgeous and looks like a fantastic follow up to the Souls games. They most certainly are taking a lot of elements of Souls into Bloodborne, but the completely new setting, new features and style are definitely making the game look completely fresh. This is great, because as fantastic as the Souls games are... I gotta admit I would feel burn out after spending over 200 hours per game on 4 games with similar settings and themes!

I'm extremely hyped for this! As if it wasn't obvious, haha.
