Take-Two hints the possibility of a "Red Dead Redemption" sequel?

Take-Two Interactive CEO Strauss Zelnick has hinted that a sequel Rockstar's 'Red Dead Redemption' could be in the making.

Here's a quote from http://www.digitaljournal.com/article/355643:

Take-Two Interactive goal is try and make a permanent franchises like the Grand Theft Auto-series while changing the frequency of which new games are released. Red Dead Redemption was among the games listed that have the potential to become a franchise.

Meanwhile, Strauss Zelnick had this to say:

"Outside of our business you can look at James Bond, for example. And it's been our goal not just to preserve and grow the Grand Theft Auto franchise, but also to build other franchises that we think can be permanent, whether that's the Red Dead franchise or the Borderlands franchise or the BioShock franchise or others, Civilization, for example."

I read this on Gamespot too...Im with you Haze...I loved RDR on PS3 and having a RDR on PS4 would be fantastic.

While I do feel that sequel to Red Dead Redemption is not needed, as the game is so great as a stand alone story, Rockstar hardly ever disappoints, so I have faith that if they decide to go through with a sequel, it will no doubt be an amazing game. Plus, if they were able to all that with Red Dead on the PS3 and Xbox 360, I can't even begin to imagine what they could accomplish on the PS4 and Xbox One.

Hell yeah baby! It implies that the next installment is already well on it's way in the development. I wish, they would show us some part of it, but knowing Rockstar, I doubt they'd ever do it. I want it, I want it bad!

Well, that would be another great title for the next generation of consoles, maybe even better if they wait it out a little so that they can know how to work with the console to make the sequel take advantage of all that console power.

Boring? Are you kidding me? RDR was one of the best games on PS3 easy.
Well,I guess sometimes it got a but samey,find gang hideout,kill them move on type of thing but this game was awesome in so many other ascpects and I for one would LOVE a RDR game on PS4.

As some one who absolutely loves Red Dead Redemption, I have no clue where you're coming from. The game was awesome and it actually got more entertaining as the player went further ahead in the story. Heck, I think it is the best game Rockstar have released till ow. The only way you can dislike it is if you hate westerns.

I've been waiting for this news for a while. The original Red Dead Redemption is one of my top 5 games of all time. I hope they keep the main character the same and just put him in a new environment. Still, this is the type of game that takes years to create so I doubt that we'll be seeing it any time soon.

Well I will be gone if they made a new RDR. This time you would probably be Jack and going round doing things. If this game does come out then I will be pre-ordering it definitely.

Well, Rockstar makes good stuff and the first RDR was pretty dang good, so I'm looking forward to this if it's true. I kinda wish they would revisit the Bully franchise, though.

RDR is one of my favorite current gen games and I have sunk countless hours into it. If there is a RDR sequel or prequel I will be all over it. If I had a nickle for ever time a cougar made me jump out of my seat I would have enough to buy the next RDR.
