Tales of Eternia?

I love RPGs and try any I come across as long as they have decent reviews. Has anyone here played Tales of Eternia for the PS3, and what did you think of it? The game is not expensive anymore as it's quite old, and I was thinking of picking up a copy, but don't want to spend any money if it isn't worth playing through the game. Specific pros and cons would be helpful too.

I love RPGs, too. One review that I read stated that some of the characters were rather shallow. On the positive side, you have the option of manual mode which gives you more control over their actions. By the way, I believe that this game is alternately titled Tales of Destiny 2.
