The Best: PS2 Memories

I remember the good old days that I would become a rock star. Or the times I would survive the most horrific crash on the track. But I want to know, what is your best PS2 memory?

Just to add mine! I loved the time I beat my first expert song in Guitar Hero 2: Rock You Like a Hurricane! Oh, how much time of my life that PS2 took up!

The entire month I played GTA: San Andreas for the first time. That game just hooked me from the start and it's the only game I have ever explored every nook and cranny of the game world (well Red Dead Redemption would be a very close second)

Guitar Hero, oh man, I miss those days. I used to play Sweet Child O' Mine until I can master it. It's pretty tiring and my fingers sore badly after playing for long hours, but that was really fun.

The first game that I played in the Ps2 was Metal Gear Solid: Sons of Liberty. And what a satisfying experience that was. From the initial shock when I found out that Snake was not the main protagonist to the pulse quickening boss battles... I knew that I was experiencing the PS2 at its best. And I knew that things would get even better. And I was right.

I remember going over to my friend's house to play PS2 and we have a lot of fun playing GTA. I can't remember which one we were playing but there was one mission that he couldn't complete, where he had to save a drunk man from falling over a building by catching him in the back of the pick-up. I remember we played for hours before I caught him in epic fashion. I was so irritated that the guy would always fall just behind the pick up that I just got out to try to shoot him down to vent my frustrations. He then jumped at the same time I got out and landed in the pick-up. Was laughing like an idiot when I saw it happen.

I remember this mission. It took my actually three tries to get him on the truck.

GTA San Andreas gives a lot of good memories. I actually spent 3 hours one time just bulking up CJ so he could be stronger.

I always start GTA: Vice City and GTA: San Andreas with powered-up characters. By powered-up I mean characters who have completed the Vigilante, Firefighter, and Paramedic missions even before starting the storyline. For GTA:SA, I would start spraying all tags throughout Los Santos even before the Tagging Up Turf mission, as well as completing other mini-games such as the Taxi, Pimping, and Convenience Store Delivery missions. As I earn enough, I will be able to buy properties as well in addition to Grove Street. It takes me around an hour or two to complete the side missions.

Kingdom Hearts and Kingdom Hearts II! I spent so many hours playing and replaying those games, trying to get it to 100% completion and beating all the bonus bosses, like Sephiroth. I would get so lost in the world of KH, and play it for hours on end. Most of my high school years were spent playing those games and Final Fantasy X.

I also have really fond memories of playing Grand Theft Auto: Vice City. I'm not sure I ever fully beat that game, but I played it often. I'd spend most of my time entering cheats to get weapons and money and going around and killing people for fun. For whatever reason, I spent a LOT of time being a taxi driver in that game, too - picking people up and earning wages. I'd also sometimes just steal a car and try to drive around obeying all the traffic rules while listening to sweet 80s music... what can I say, I'm weird :)

Oh, i know that feeling too well. When my friend got the game, i was literally blown away with the amount of things you could do. I remember spending an entire day, just cycling through the entire map, running from the cops (because we didn't unlock the other parts of the map).

Damn, i wish that GTAV brings all of those things and more.

The best thing i can remember about Playstation 2 is playing Tekken for hours on end in a winner stays on competition with my family. Competitive game play with friends and family make for the most exciting times and the best memories in my opinion, besides, I tend to be the best at video games, especially Tekken, which is parly while playing competitively is so fun.

The two main games I got addicted to were Tony Hawk and GTA. Both of these games I could play for hours and not get bored. I love the sort of games where you are free to roam and pretty much do as you please, with the ability to follow an intentional structure within the game. This freedom is what get's me addicted I think. I was mesmerised by GTA when I first played it. GTA 5 has got me excited like all other previous GTA titles have in the past!

The thing I remember having fun with the most were playing the two player games. I used to play Tekken with my friends until sunrise and it was so addictive even if we were essentially just playing the same game over and over. As for single player games, binging on Burnout is my fondest memory, and even that provided a lot of good memories for me and my friends since we used to take turns trying to get gold on all the challenges.

There was a game called The Getaway a bit like GTA but set in London.
I remember me and my girlfriend sitting up till all hours of the morning smoking weed and Jacking london buses and Saab 900's
great days miss that so much lol

Oh, in addition, I also could not forget the sense of wonder that I had every time I played Shadow of the Colossus. I would just sometimes ride Agro across the beautiful fields and mountains enjoying the view. When it came to the boss battles with the colossi, I felt an intense adrenaline rush as I stared at the huge beings.
