The Last of Us is Coming to PlayStation 4

I think if they would it would have been announced at the same time as the PS4 version.
It was only done with a handful of launch games cause they included a docket with code in the game box.
And allowing it for people who bought the digital version on PS3 wouldnt be fair to those that bought the hard copy.

I thought this game looked phenomenal on the PS3, cannot imagine how good it will look on the PS4!

It says that Naughty Dog has been working on it since they finished the PS3 version but it still doesn't mean they haven't outsourced it or maybe they are only working on the graphics upgrade and will have another developer port the game. I would not want my top developers working on a port of a game that probably at lest 50% of the client base has played on the PS3. However, if they are planning a $20 upgrade then it might make much more money as I think most people who have/had it on their PS3 would upgrade.

However, I don't think there is going to be an ugrade since it is already showing up on the PS4 store as 59.99. Previous games had upgrades listed and Tomb Raider which was a very good game one the ps3 did not have a upgrade option.333333333

Thanks for the article. It is not coming out until December so I wm sure we will know everything about in late November before being released.

Not really sure how I feel about this. On the one hand, yay, people who didn't get it on PS3, or didn't have a PS3 like myself get a chance to play it. But on the other hand...it sort of seems like a cheap cash in. They know it's going to sell at least decently well, and they're going to make people pay full price for a little graphical upgrade. I definitely do not approve of that. Come on guys, it's only been, what a year since it came out?

It sounds like most of us are on the same page. Yes it will be great for people who had an 360 last year but it does not sound like much of a deal for those of us who were PS3 owners.

I really do not believe that TLOU on the PS4 will be as good as the TLOU on the PS3. The PS3 version was a masterpiece IMO and it used all power within the PS3. Everything was done nearly perfectly. I just don't think the upgraded graphics will make the game any better and II bet it will lose something during the port.

There has been no mention of an upgrade do I may just have to wait two years after it is released and when I can buy it used. I don't want to directly support these ports with better graphics.

There were a myriad of PS2 games released on PSN with high definition graphics for the PS3. MOst of the games were not as good as original on the PS2.

The only thing we as consumers can do is vote with our wallet by saying No to $60 ports and not buying them.

Naughty Dog got the game right when they released it for the PS3. There is no need for a port with better graphics. I would rather the developers spend their time working on a new game that takes place in TLOU universe

Agreeing with this guy. He seems to have the right idea;we don't need updates this soon. If we're getting an update it has to be radically different to the original if you ask me.

Ah but was that because when you played it on the PS2 they were brand new and great, but when they were released on the PS3 through the PSN, you expected more to be added than just some shines and sparkles?

The PS3 version is just perfect. I hope they will add some new features to the PS4 version. If this is not the case I will propably not buying it.

So how is that differ from playing TLOU on the PS4?

And it is not necessarily true of the re mastered HD games on the PS3. Many of them lost their controls and had awkward looking graphics as some parts were high resolution while other parts have low res backgrounds.

I agree with the person that said this feels like a cheap cash-in. It is an easy money grab, I am hoping it does not sell well. The PS4 is loaded with 8 to 16 bit graphic games that are just direct ports for quick cash. I refuse to buy any game that looks like it was made for the PS1 and asking $15 bucks for these old games is ludicrous. There are better games for $4 on smartphones and tablets.

Do you never buy indie games then?

Nostalgia doesn't usually affect games that came out last year anon.

I had never been more excited about a game in my life then when I heard about TLOU. Unless it is something new, I don't want any part of a prettier TLOU for 60 bucks.

This is time and resources Naughty Dog could have been using to make the next Game of the Year.

Hell, they could have even thrown in a directors cut or something different for 60 bucks. I cant help but see it as a cash grab.

I'm not saying that, I agree with you. I'm simply saying that perhaps nostalgia could have played a part in the PS2 upgrade.

I sold my PS3 before I had a chance to play it. I am probably their target consumer, not someone who already played it. I'm sure there are those that will buy it 2x, but many have already stated there are a lot of people that went 360-PS4. I think that it is cool they want more people to get to experience the game. It's weird that anyone would be up in arms about an award winning game being redone for others to enjoy it. Was the experience worth 60$??
I doubt we are missing out on some insanely mind blowing project because of this either.
I'm sorry I wasn't in the super secret PS3 TLOU club that should only get to experience this game. I'm paying 60 for it.
