The Last of Us is Coming to PlayStation 4

There is still no chance of it coming to PC ever..is there?

2 things make me highly doubt it will ever be on anything besides a sony console

1. The developer has made games exclusively for playstation for almost 20 years. (AFAIK)
2. They are a subsidiary of Sony.

June seems like fast port. Well wait and see. Also, I don't want people to think that I am completely against this. I do think the people coming over from the 360 will get a wonderful experience. I just don't want developers to keep doing this too much as it seems like easy money. I will be glad to wait a couple of years and then buy The Last of US PS4 for $15 bucks used. This way the developer gets no money from me and there will be parts of the game that I forgot about.

It is very possible that this is a disaster also. Porting something from a cell custom CPU/GPU from the PS3 to the PS4 which is essentially a custom PC is not a quick port if you want it done right. I do have all the confidence in the world in Naughty Dog but I wonder if this is being pushed by Sony so they can say they have 200 + Game of the Year winner in the PS4 lineup.

The only thing I wonder is about the sales. How do you guys expect this to sell in comparison to Infamous: SS ?

Ah man this must be the greatest news that i have heard all day. The last of us must be one of the most epic games to have been created on the face of video gaming and I don think that thee is any game right now that can come close to the utter quality that that game provided and the experience that it left you with. Playing that game is like truly being a part of a great movie. In a lot of ways it reminds of Uncharted I guess that is because the creators are the same people. Overall I think that this game would be great to play on the PS4

I sold my PS3 before I had a chance to play it. I am probably their target consumer, not someone who already played it. I'm sure there are those that will buy it 2x, but many have already stated there are a lot of people that went 360-PS4. I think that it is cool they want more people to get to experience the game. It's weird that anyone would be up in arms about an award winning game being redone for others to enjoy it. Was the experience worth 60$??
I doubt we are missing out on some insanely mind blowing project because of this either.
I'm sorry I wasn't in the super secret PS3 TLOU club that should only get to experience this game. I'm paying 60 for it.

I'm with you Nackles as I also missed out after finishing GTA V and GT6 traded my PS3 in for some PS4 games. Surely as gamers we want people to enjoy the best games possible?!

The only games I missed out on last gen were Dark Souls 2, South Park and The Last Of Us.

The Last Of Us is targetting 1080p and 60fps and boy it looks good:

I like the fact the games are made as impressively as possible and then dialled down for the console version to ensure it runs nicely enough.

Take note Thief and COD developers!!

You are right! Oh well, I'll probably play this on the ps4 again.

I never actually owned my own PS3 I just played my friends so I got to experience how awesome the game play is but I have very little idea about the story. So when I was thinking of getting a console I was really thinking I would get a PS3 just to play this game but now looks like I'll just fork out that little extra cash and get a PS4

I would wait to if that was the case but sometimes ports with enhanced graphics are not better games. There were plenty of PS2 games upgraded to HD for the PS3 that were nowhere as good as the original game. Graphics matter but I the original could end up being better. I would wait and see what type of reviews TLOU gets for the PS4. There are a lot of other great exclusives for the PS4. I would get the Uncharted Series and Heavy Rain also.

I'm not really into graphics that much, the PS3 version of TLOU looks pretty good already and I don't think a major graphical redo is necessary. I haven't played Uncharted before so I would probably get a copy too.

I'm really excited to hear about this! I really want to go pick it up for PS4 now. I've been waiting to pick it up and now here's my chance. :)

Dude I am so excited!! I never played Last of Us (I don't know why), but i will play it on my new console! Keep the finger crossed...

It is a great game and you will enjoy it. Unfortunately, there is not a lot of motivation for those of us who played it on the PS3 to pay full price for a graphical upgrade. I can play it on my PS3 again, I already have finished the game twice. I just hope Naughty Dog is working on another game in TLOU universe. I don't see a direct sequel with the same characters but there certainly could be a game with different characters in the same world.

I personally had TLOU as my personal Game of the Year with Bioshock Infinite being 2nd. The ending for Bioshock Infinite was great and there were a lot of good moments in that game but TLOU is on a level of it's own IMO. It deserved the GOTY awards it won.

The only thing I don't get is how GTA gets higher scores than TLOU on some of the big review sites. They must receive big checks because GTA is just not at the same level as TLOU or Bioshock Infinite IMO. Maybe GTA is just not a game that I get the appeal of. I do sometimes wonder though if people like it because of the hype. I feel like GTA would get lower scores if it was not released by Rockstar. TLOU would get great scores no matter who released it.

I couldn't finish it because it was a little too graphic for me, but even as someone who had to put it away, I have to admit it's an awesome game. If you can handle the content, it's probably worth renting a PS3 for a weekend just to play it.

I never thought the actual violence in the game was bad compared to a lot of survival horror games. However, the whole tone of the game is very bleak and shows the bad side of human nature under extreme conditions in a horrible future after a major event destroyed civilization. I don't know where you called it quits but there are some great moment toward the end of the game.

I quit after I got to Pittsburgh. I can handle gore, violence, etc no problem. For some reason I made an emotional attachment to Ellie. So when I got into a firefight and she was assisting me, hit a NPC in the head with a brick and yelled "Take that MF'er!" was too much for me. I shut it down then. I loved the game and the story, but that particular part in an otherwise random encounter really screwed with my head. I watched spoiler videos and stuff, and while I'm sad I didn't see it firsthand, I'm glad I put it down where I did.

What? Really?

Now I really cant wait to play this.

Everyone is different and TLOU is my favorite video games of all time but I can see why you would put it down. I actually think that is quite a compliment to how well the game is made that you felt attached to a character. There are so many video games with cardboard characters that don't feel like real people.

I put down both GTA 4 & 6. I know they got great ratings but it just seemed like it was just nonstop violence and language with no fun factor. I don't care about language and violence as I have seen every video nasty out there and played the most violence video games and love a lot of the ultra violent ones especially when they are either trying to be fun or serious like TLOU. However, I just cant get through the last two GTA games and don't understand why they are so popular. The violence and language in TLOU was essential to the story. I also feel like Saint's Row is better than the GTA series because it does not take itself seriously. Saints Row is just trying to be over the top and fun. I just get the feeling that Rockstar thinks their games are all about being cool. Different strokes for different folks I guess.

It is also worth mentioning that the actress who did the voice for Ellie cried after they finished the voice acting for the games. TLOU is just a very special game but it is not for everyone.

The ending alone is probably going to perplex a lot of people.

I put down both GTA 4 & 6...

First of all looks like you missed GTA V and where did you get GTA VI from? Early beta release maybe? (lol)

Second,to each their own but complaining about GTA's violence is like complaining about the violence in any FPS shooter or fighting game.
This is GTA,but I know you know that.
As for the characters, personally I like them too, they dont feel like cardboard people to me while playing GTA.
I first had that when playing GTA Vice City as Tommy Vercetti, but I still like Nico Belic the best, more than any of GTA V's 3 main characters.
None of those feel like cardboard people to me. Same with James Marsten from Red Dead Redemption, great character and felt like you were controlling a man around.

As for Saints Row,well I has Saints Row the 3rd for a while (as PS+ download game I think it was) ,didnt get past the few levels as I that style just didnt interest me.
But as I said,to each their own.

Still, back on topic and Im defo getting The Last of Us on PS4.Having not played it yet I really look forward to it.

If this is released with a PS4 bundle, I just might have an excuse to buy it. Heard many good things about the game.
