The Last of Us is Coming to PlayStation 4

Everyone is different and TLOU is my favorite video games of all time but I can see why you would put it down. I actually think that is quite a compliment to how well the game is made that you felt attached to a character. There are so many video games with cardboard characters that don't feel like real people.

I hope you don't think I thought the game was flawed in any way. I thought it was spectacular. It's one of my great gaming regrets, that I couldn't finish it. I'll check out TLOU2 or whatever else they chose to do with the franchise. It was so real to me, for whatever reason, and while I put it away, I still recommend it to people.

Not at all. Your comments on the game are a testament to how well designed and acted the game is. I still think it was the bleakness of the world with a character you came to care about that caused you turn it off.

There are very few video games well enough made to make people care about the characters. I took what you said as a great compliment to the game.

You will probably like the next uncharted more although as much as I love uncharted, TLOU is just so much better..

I was holding out for news like this cause I never got it for PS3 and everyone raves how awesome it is so Ill defo have to get should it come to PS4.
mostly just hype, Played it on PC, didn't live up to my expectations at all, but its god for passing the time, just don't expect too much...

My only real gripe with The Last of Us is that they never added an infected survival mode for multiplayer, which was one of the main reasons I got it You have a game where humanity is desolated by a virus that pretty much turns you into a zombie and the main storyline is centered more around human elements with a terrifying infected side element...but no straight up survival against infected?

I really hope they do something with that in the Ps4 version, otherwise I am not going to bother paying 40-60 bucks all over again for a game I already played on all difficulties.

Great game, but not paying £50 to play it again on the PS4!

I really hope other PS3 owners don't pay for a graphical upgrade. I seriously doubt it will look much better and it is the same exact game. If companies can slightly upgrade games and release them on a new console at full price and have people that already own the game buy it for $60 then the video game industry is doomed. I honestly believe they would make more money but offering a $20 upgrade price for owners of the game, I don't care if TLOU gets a 11 out of 10 in it's reviews. I played this game on twice and it was my favorite game of all time. However, I only played it for the single player campaign so there really is no reason for me to replay the game with slightly updated graphics.

How does it hurt the industry or consumers if people buy another copy of the game to get better graphics and next-gen console support? From an industry perspective, this gives them more money to use to make other games. From a consumer perspective, nobody is forcing them to buy the games. If you don't want the new graphics, that's fine - just don't buy the game, or wait a few months for the price to drop to something you think is reasonable.

As to me, I never owned a PS3 and TLOU was one of the games I really wanted to play - so I'm very happy to see the port coming to PS4, and I'll happily buy it day one.

It was just a matter of time until it came out for the PS4, just like GTA V will.
This was probably the plan all along to only have those in the PS3 at launch, since if they announced that they would come to the PS4 as well then most people would have waited and not bought it until now.

The Last of Us is a decent game that is put together really well. I enjoy it most for the cinematic feel. The actual gameplay is fairly standard in most aspects. I think it gets away with some lazy platforming/puzzles and average gun play by just being easy on the eyes most of the time and making you feel for a little girl. In a lot of ways, I'd say the game developers were catering to a specific audience of people that gets easily aroused by some light tearjerking and the prospect of zombies. I didn't feel like this game broke through a large number of boundaries, but for a video game touching on zombies and a post-apocalyptic scenario, it did it very well, especially for a third person and fairly linear variation on this theme.

If I could get the guys at Naughty Dog to put a game like The Last of Us together with an open world like GTA V, then I would be sold. Forget the story altogether if necessary, keep it atmospheric, and make the violence more interesting. The Last of Us was great the one time through I played it, but I've never been compelled to pick it up again. And won't on the PS4!

There is no way Naughty Dog can pull off the open world while telling the story as well. I love Naughty Dog put their stories are done on rails. They are closer to interactive movies than video games in many ways. And yes you can get away with average gameplay mechanics when the story is told well and the graphics are amazing. The story and characters are the keys to NDs success. If they did not have a good story then their games would be all eye candy like a Michael Bay movie.

I'm really excited for this game! The bits and pieces of game play that I have seen have really pulled me in. I haven't played it, but I may pick it up if and when there's a nice sale on it.

Yeah, I think that the PS4 port isn't really for the PS3 gamer. I think they're re-releasing it for the Xbox converts.

lmao this guy's full of crap. You can't even play TLoU on PC. It's an exclusive ffs.
The game's really good OP. Just don't listen to blatant liars like this one who claim to play TLoU on PC. Come on man, you can't make crappy lie about games on a gamer forum where everyone knows what they're talking about.

Lol yeah, reminds me my non-gaming friends in high school with their Halos and Marios on PS2...

Borrowed my buddies copy and played it on the PS3. Probably my favorite console game of all time. So considering I didn't buy the game but was able to beat it, I may throw down some cash and get it for the PS4 I will soon purchase. Don't know if I can go through playing it again though, it was heavy.

Confirmed by Naughty Dog that it will run at 60fps.

So 1080P & 60fps can only mean good things for this game on PS4 :)

Absolutely hands down, best game of all time in my eyes. Fell in love with this game the minute I picked it up. Heard it was being re-released for the ps4, traded in my ps3 and all my games and switched to Ps4. Game is already paid for, just waiting for it to be released :)

This is the best game I ever played. However, it still is not worth $50 bucks for the PS4. I did do a second partial replay of TLOU just to try to find all the hidden items and such but that was not where the fun was in this game. This game excels as a single play third person game. It is all about the story and the characters. I don't care if it is 1080p at 60fps. I promise that the version for the PS3 at 720p at 30fps looked damn good. I just don't think the difference in graphics will make much of a difference.

Maybe I will buy this in a couple of years when I can get it for $10 bucks used but I have no desire to play again eve though it is the best game I have ever played.

Buy if you are coming from an 360 to PS4 as it easily will be a great game. If you paid $60 bucks for the PS3 version, it is a hard sale.
