The Price Of PS4s On Ebay

People already selling PlayStation 4 on eBay. For up to $5,000

The article is a little outdated (posted Nov. 8,2013), but it was related so I posted it.

Anyway, I checked yesterday and the prices were at an average of $750, checked again today to see that the rest are going for around $500-$600 average. Some of them surprisingly still holding their ground at $1500+. I wasn't paying attention during the PS3 launch, but I heard scalpers then made double the amount of what they paid for their PS3s. So what changed? Does it take a while for the price to go up? Also, who buys these at those prices, why would they do it?

Another thing worth noting is that I don't think these sellers will end up making a lot from those prices. By my account, with the shipping costs and extra controller, they can probably only expect about $150 profit if they sell at $600. Correct me if I'm wrong.

That is insane! That makes me wish that I bought a PS4 instead of paying rent then turning around and quadrupling my rent haha wow! My buddy sold his for 600 though so that isn't surprising. It's a genius plan too, take advantage of next-generation. Damn why didn't I think of this!?

Dude, really? 5 grand for a PS4? What is this madness! I feel like I have been making stupid decisions my whole life by not ever going on ebay.

This is ridiculous. I don't understand who would be that desperate for a PS4 when if they just wait a couple more months then the stores will have plenty of them for sale. Sure their sold out now because it's launch day but that doesn't mean that in two to three weeks there won't be a lot more. Besides with the Amazon problem and other launch day bugs wouldn't it be good to wait for the next updated shipments? Who wants a PS4 that badly?
