The sorcerer

Any sorcerer's out there? Why did you select this as your class? or why will you? Usually I go for the dark mage type character in mmos but this time I feel that if you can carry as much gear as you want then you shouldn't have any restrictions. How about you guys?

I've always played as magic users in Elder Scrolls and whenever I do get around an MMORPG, I develop one...so expect me in there a mage of some sort :D

Woop, woop, sorcerers unite, I feel like the mages guild is going to be particularly awesome The Elder Scrolls Online!

Sorcerers should be able to cast meteorites and storms and stuff like that!

Sorry, I've just been playing Dragon's Dogma lately. Sorcerers in that game can do some truly amazing stuff. Imagine playing TES Online and you just cast meteorites and kill a bunch of players hahaha.

Just popping in to say "Boooo sorcerers. You guys practice magic and stuff" :P

While I've always been a warrior fan, I do like casting magic. That's a class that require some skill to master and even be decent in any game.

This is true, I spent a long time mastering magic, even though I did spend a lot mastering the other skills too. I should like to see PvP guild vs guild battles in TESO, just to see who would really win a fight between the various classes...

I' like to see that as well. I believe the fights would vary wildly though. You could have players who are so skilled with a particular class that they're hard to beat in PvP/near unstoppable, classes that should ideally beat another, but a player just manages their skills poorly, etc. The second one would be rare since with time you'll know how to play that class and handle skills properly (what situation to use them in, debuffs, buffs, replenishing mana, etc).

That's the main reason I've always enjoyed playing as a caster class, there's some strategy that goes into forming a capable magic user and they all typically varied across the board (even in EQ where the difference between a magician and a wizard had me scratching my head). With tank classes and melees you know you have one particular skill that needs to be raised for your effectiveness in a group and just focus on that, get better weapons, and allocate the rest of your points elsewhere.

It might be different with TESO but I don't expect it to be wildly different.

Indeed, this is usually why I pick the mage/wizard/dark elf type character for magic purposes. The magic skill trees just seem to have more depth to them.

If they brought back the race-specific class match ups of Morrowind and Oblivion and added some depth to them in ESO I could see that adding a lot of strategy to picking and managing a character. Plus they'll likely unlock more skills throughout the run of the game.
