The Witness, a new PSN Jonathon Blow game

For those unfamiliar with Blow, he's the one man development team behind legendary indie game "Braid". His newest creation, "The Witness", is set to be a PSN exclusive on PS4. The gameplay is first persion, and focuses on an island with a specific type of puzzle. Not much has been shown, but the screen shots of the game look absolutely beautiful.

We do know that it's a mixture of adventure and puzzle, with little to no combat. Supposedly it's reminiscent of Myst, but with centralized puzzles rather than complex and obscure ones. Regardless, I'm a huge fan of Braid, and of first person puzzle games (Portal, Myst, Quantum Conundrum). I'm super excited to see more of this and to finally play it.

No word on release date, but I believe it's early first quarter 2014. What do you guys think, is it going to be the next big indie game title?

It's probably gonna sell exceptionally well, but noone will get its incredibly cryptic message and just interpret their own meaning, like people tend to do with art, and that'll be such a Blow to his ego, he'll fall into depression and meet up with Phil Fish so they can kill themselves together; but not after calling everyone out on the internet for the moronic simpletons that they are.

In all seriousness though, while I liked (LIKED, not loved) Braid, I'm not really impressed by this new title. It looks like it's trying too hard to be artsy and special but will ultimately turn out to be incredibly dull and in other ways way too cryptic. The visuals look good but, well, it's made by more than just him so that's not all that impressive, either.
