When I first got my PS3 I was playing first person shooters all the time (though I was never good at them). I would play Call of Duty a lot. Now I'm starting to get out of it. They are good games, I just think I've had my fill of them.
Personally, I can't stand most shooters. To me they're often pointless, with the one goal being to shoot things and just a thin story to give it the illusion of being a good game. There are exceptions, of course - Call of Duty tends to have a good story. That is one of the few shooters I've enjoyed. I remember playing and liking the first Halo game, too, but again - decent story.
Why don't you try some RPGs? If you're used to shooters, traditional RPGs might be a bit on the slow side for you. Have you ever played Fallout?
Fallout might be the perfect transition game for you. I like shooter games okay, but I love RPG games. I like to just sit and relax, instead of being on edge from shooter style games.
I think moving on to RPG games, is exactly what you need. I say, try out Fallout, Kingdom Hearts, or something like that. You still get action with RPG's, but you also get killer storylines and puzzles, too.
Thanks for the advice on moving on to RPG games. I have heard that I would probably like Kingdom Hearts but I haven't played yet. What is Fallout about? I have heard of it but never played that one either.
