ToyStory 3

I just picked this up on Amazon for under $20 for the PS3. My kids love the Toy Story movies so I hope they love this. It's supposed to be about when Andy heads off to college, so I bet it follows the storyline of the movie a bit. Anyone have it?

No, don't have it but I sure hope it doesn't follow the Robot Chicken version of Toy Story when Andy comes home to visit from college-definitely not suitable for kids!

I just have to comment, there are few things in the world I like LESS than Robot Chicken.

As for the game, did you look at reviews? You should always check reviews before spending money on a game, that way you don't fall into the trap of buying crappy games that just sit there, a waste of money. I have a Toy Story game on Wii that (though a bit simple for my tastes) seems to be well done. I'm not sure if it's Toy Story 3 though.

I just checked and Gamespot gave it a 7/10, which is really good for a movie based game.

Honestly I don't really like reviews. Everyone has a different taste and some people might just be angry and review it negatively. I'm never looked at Gamespot for a review though. I pretty much stick to Amazon. Thanks for the tip though!

From what I've heard, the Toy Story game isn't half bad for a movie license game, though I haven't played it myself. I'd actually recommend checking out GameSpot reviews, though. They go into a lot more specific detail on what they liked and didn't like than Amazon does.

I wouldn't look at Amazon for game reviews either. A lot of ratings are based on the service/shipping/etc, and as mentioned may be low because people were angry. Looking at expert critic reviews is a much better way to gauge the quality of a video game. Just be sure you look at user reviews as well as critic reviews (some games that are technically great are just not liked by many gamers, for whatever reason). I usually look at Gamespot and IGN.

I loved Toy Story 3, but I do not know if I would enjoy a video game, based from the movie. Most of the time, games like that, are just a marketing ploy, to rake in more money. When you recieve the game, let us know how it plays.

Thanks again for the tip about checking out Gamestop for reviews. I will certainly do this in the future. I really thought Amazon was a good place to look. I know better now! I think the kids will like the game!
