TPP is Hundreds of Times Larger than Ground Zeroes

According to Hideo Kojima, Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain is "hundreds of times larger than Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes." Which releases on March 18, 2014! Additional news; they're working on the controls for each console as well and it seems to be proving a difficult task for the developers of The Phantom Pain. No release date for TPP but it will debut on Playstation 3, Playstation 4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One. Most likely on PC as well but more on that later.

You know, when it comes to Hideo Kojima and his announcements, it’s hard taking them at face value. Sometimes I think he’s really referring to how the game is going to be 100x larger in the story plot, or the set of ideologies/philosophies/etc. that he wasn’t able to get across to completion in previous games.

Of course, when it comes to producers stating how games will be more expansive, it’s about using retrospect on the reality of those types of games. It raises the question if we’ll just be traversing through barren wastelands, or some aspect of the open-world ends up like Far Cry where all you care about is getting from point A to B without any intermediates to be considerate of. Of course, trying to parse Far Cry with Kojima’s mentality is a non-sequitur (to some extent) when taken at a grander scale, but I just want to see if he’ll start making breakthroughs with the expansive environment/world hype.
