Trophy Hunting!

When you guys play whatever game you feel like playing, do you try to get the platinum trophy for that game? Pretty much what I'm asking is like, for example I am currently finishing up CoD: Ghosts Campaign on Veteran difficulty and I am almost done but I'm going to try my hardest to continue playing and doing what I gotta do to get every trophy. Are you guys like that too, or is beating the game and getting 100% completion enough for you without getting all trophies? In all honesty I have never gotten a platinum trophy for any game on PS4 or PS3, not even all achievements for a game on my 360!! I was thinking about this the past hour as I was playing and I figured out that to me beating a game means 100% completion and a platinum trophy from now on!!! I've been slacking but that's over with!! I'ma be grinding and grinding for that platinum for months if I have too lol. Just wanted to hear your thoughts on the subject... Oh and if you do plan on getting all trophies for a game do you read the description on how to get the trophy and figure it out on your own or do you, lets say YouTube or Google search on how to get said trophy and go from there?

Ok. I used to be big on trophies about a two years ago. But over time, the interest in obtaining platinums lowered dramatically. So I took a big break in gaming and came back to it months later with a fresh new account (PSN ID: RCarl-El) and a fresh new attitude, which I still have today. Basically, I've managed to get a few platinums but only because I loved the game (Red Dead Redemption, Battlefield 2: Bad Company, Borderlands, etc.) and went out of the way for them. The rest of the time (and games) I just play until I've had enough basically. Sure, if I'm only a couple trophies away from a platinum I might go for it, but mainly I play for fun (which should be everyone's number one priority when it comes to video games).

When it comes to trophies and reading guides or watching videos to obtain them - my view is that you shouldn't look at guides or videos to tell you how to get the trophy, unless you have really really tried and simply cannot get it. For example: say you need to reach the top 3 players in online multiplayer matches 10 times - I believe the fun and challenge is trying to get that legit. I think it's pretty stupid to "boost" these types of trophies in order to get a simple trophy which 99% of people will never look at anyway. Basically, it's kind of like cheating. That is why they are called "Trophies" - accomplishments!

Lengthy I know, but I've had experience in loving trophies, and tolerating them. So remember guys and gals - FUN always should come first!

If I really like a game, I will strive for the Plat. I only have one at the moment although I am slowly working on a handful. I have yet to seek out a game because it has easy trophies, although I might start doing this as a means to catch up to my brother. If I am stuck on a trophy I will generally look at tips or a guide. I even trophy boost on a occasion because let us be frank here, online/multiplayer trophies are the dumbest of all things.

I dont really hunt for trophies,Ill just play the game.
However when Im finished Ill go through the trophy list and if I see some 'easy' ones I can get,so I may do that. But thats as far as I go.
Its not a priority really.

Totally agree with you here I'm gonna be doing the same thing unless its a game I really really wanna platinum then I'll grind until I get there and I really want to platinum CoD: Ghosts for some reason! (probably because its the game I'm closest to getting my FIRST ever platinum trophy on) I'm going to try to platinum GTA 5 also because the GTA series is video games I grew up playing lol (always tried for 100% completion since GTA 3)

I always strive for 100% a game, but if it gets boring i stop. Not something i'll waste my time on being bored.

iv gotten the garden warfare platinum and i almost have it for shadow of mordor

Congrats! Been thinking about trying PvZ: Garden Warfare out, looks like fun.

Managed to get the platinum for Minecraft: PS4 Edition yesterday morning!

I have actually the platinum only for inFamous SS and Shadow of Mordor. Trying to reach it for inFamous FL too now. I am not a trophy hunter but I noticed, once the story is finished and the game is over, that running after trophies adds value to the game, giving more fun for a while. In other words, I find it a good way to increase the game's longevity!

Thank's Haze! My poor hands... I guess I'll not visit any arena for some days...lol.

Yep. Pretty much my reaction. Just didn't want to go near it for a long time (actually sold it a week ago). Not to say I didn't have fun though :)

I usually only try for plat on games that I really end up playing a ton like Skyrim, Borderlands, Dragon's Dogma, etc. Most of the time though I end up getting like 1-2 trophies away from the plat and put it away to finish on a rainy day, so I've definitely got a lot of games on my backlog I need to go back and trophy hunt on.

Pretty much me also.

What I cannot understand are "Trophy Whores" who will not play a game simply because the Platinum is too hard or there is no platinum. Baffles me. Think of all the great games they miss out on because of one stupid rule.
