Ubisoft's next gen games are are selling much better than curren gen counterparts

It makes sense. There is always a lot of buzz and hype when the launch of a new console is on the horizon, and people are usually eager to buy games that are relatively unknown just to try the console out, let alone a promising title. Seeing as how Ubisoft has a proven track record with innovative IPs, and the gameplay looks fantastic, it's no surprise that preorders are selling fast.

True that. Ubisoft is one of the best game developers right now. hey have the most amazing and innovative games in the development. I am really excited to see what announced IP they have to showcase at Gamescom. Let's see how things unfold.

What they're selling now is buzz and hype, not actual games. All credit to them for having some very convincing marketing campaigns. Those games haven't even been released yet, so how can we talk about any real success here? New IP's are always good but I feel like Ubisoft likes franchises way too much. Some games can be nicely wrapped up with some DLC and they become great standalone titles with no need for sequels. I hope that their future games will not follow in line with Assassins Creed.

People must be buying them to justify their purchase of a PS4 or Xbox One, because, honestly, their launch line-ups are pretty lacking right now...

Well, pre sold games are higher for next gen consoles. Let's see how actual sale of games would be. There are a lot of PS 3 and Xbox 360 owners and I believe that Ubisoft would still generate more sales from the current gen systems as compared to the next gen systems. Maybe next year, PS 4 and Xbox One games would overshadow the sale of games on the PS 3 and Xbox 36p but I don't see that happening this year.

Yes, some of their franchises just needs a break and a fresh breath of yer. Having said this, games like The Crew and The Division looks mind-bloggingly awesome. I think, you'd agree with that too :)

They are talking about success because of pre-order numbers. Plus, Watch Dogs is gonna do great on every system anyway, everybody wants that game.

Ubisoft played all their cards right tbh as far as next gen is concerned.

Right now all the best games for next gen are made by Ubisoft, exclusives of course not included.

I can already name my top 3 off the top of my head...Watch Dogs, Division and Drive Club.

And all of 3 I'm pretty sure I'll be buying!

They all look like games that have some effort put in my devs. You forgot to mention The Crew which looks freaking awesome :)

Ubisoft releases some very good games and they support every single platform to some extent. I find it hard to dislike them and their next-gen line-up certainly makes me like them even more.

I have still not forgotten when they called the PC gamers pirates. They stated that 95% people are pirates which was appalling to a lot of PC fans and the backlash ensued after that.

This answer is as correct as any. Ubisoft have a proven track record, and gamers know that.

Well Ubisoft makes good games and they always are fun so of course they will sell. Also there aren't many good launch titles, so of course people will buy games from Ubisoft as they will know it will be a good game.

Yes, they always make 'good' games, but they always have that kinda lacking something feeling attached to it. I think if they will work more on the games they publish, they will be much better games.

The more the hype, the more it sells. Current gen systems are stale now. Companies don't market them.

I wonder if this is the first time these things are happening, since I'm assuming pre-ordering or even pre-ordering online is a new thing. Did this happen in the Sega days? Anyway, great points have already been brought up by our members here, I'd just like to add that next gen games have infinitely fewer competition as well, so there's that too.
