Update 1.6 problem

Well..
Today I downloaded new update on my PS4 console.
Yesterday everything was fine, today not. I run NBA2k14 - intermittent sound during the game. I restart the console and run BF4 - no audio during the game. Sb could explain what's goin on, or have the same problem?

Are you using your headset for sound?

Someone on the official PS forum has posted this solution.

Go to Settings >Sound and Screen> Audio Output Settings> Output to Headphones> All Audio

Don't have any options. After Audio Output Settings I have just Primary Output Port (HDMI OUT or DIGITAL OUT) and Audio Format (Linear PCM, Bitstream Dolby, Bitstream DTS). No Output to Headphones..

Not this time - I have just TV and PS4 - whitout amplifer or other hifi device and whitout headset. So my console is connected with TV via HDMI.

Strange, I'm not finding any other similar experiences online either, nothing like your predicament has been mentioned on the official PS Forum.

Sorry dude :(

So, I have not yet updated to 1.6 but I have been having similar issues with BF4 for over a week. Almost everytime I turn it on and get into a session, all I get is game music audio during game play (no shooting or exploding or footsteps). If I exit the session and go into a new session, it seems to work fine after that.

I have played around with all the settings, but it only happens on BF4 and only on that very first session.

That is something to do with this ;) www.ps4forum.com/283-battlefield-4/4009-sound-bug.html

Thats is why I hate pointless updates on any device whatsoever, "If it aint broke don't fix it" can you downgrade back to the previous version? try doing that and see if it will solve the problem

Don't mean to highjack the topic but does anyone have trouble signing into PSN after the update? I tried signing in to download Outlast but got the "the store isn't available in your country/region." error a couple of hours ago.

Sony has indicated it is aware of and investigating issues related to logging in to the PlayStation Network via the PS4. The official PlayStation Twitter noted the problems a couple of hours ago, but there have been no updates in the interim. The issue doesn’t seem very widespread, fortunately.

It affected me last night, fortunately I was a bit tired anyway so I had an early night, otherwise I would have been quite annoyed :o

I am having the same problem with NBA 2K14 after running a PS4 update. Sound cuts out throughout the game. Very annoying. There are a bunch of people in the Playstation forums having the same issue.

Looking at that PS4 support link i figured out what the issue is. If i am correct everyone that is having problems is using the hdmi and dig output with both connected to their surround sound. I got the PS4 for Christmas and today started having the audio issues. So, after going through multiple websites, the one above gave me the idea of whats wrong. Its a compatibility issue. No matter what setting i changed or what steps i found to try and fix the problem they only gave short term results.

What i did was take the Dig output out of the picture. I ran my HDMI through my tv then turned my surround sound to my tv sound and bingo problem solved.

The issue is that the PS4 is trying to push sound through the HDMI and the Dig output at the same time. It is a firmware glitch that i am sure could easily be fixed.
