Virtual Reality Controls For PS4?

Hypothetically, if PS4 were to release an Oculus Rift type device (for those who are unfamiliar, please check out video below), would you be in favor of it and would you think it's a good addition to gaming? Would it make you favor PS4 even more?

I personally and sincerely hope that Sony never gives into the virtual reality gimmick, unless the technology for it was truly at its peak. I don't understand why they keep reviving this, and I don't understand why they keep thinking that strapping a huge machine in front of your face is somehow a good idea. It's been done for ages (see Virtual Boy for Nintendo, & Sega 3D Glasses) and it's never sold, and I don't know why they think it will now.

If ever this would work, I think it should be closer to Kinect wherein you don't really have to hold or strap on anything to play it.

Also, on a related note, the founder of Oculus Rift was found dead today, he was supposedly killed by a gang member escaping from police. Here is the article:

I think it would be outstanding if PS4 could achieve something like this. So long that it was well developed, I think the potential here is amazing. The whole idea of being immersed in the game really appeals to me. I really think that Sony are best of leaving Oculus Rift to their own devices though, if they were to make their own version of it, it may be sloppy. I think there is certainly potential here though, if Sony could pull this off then it would massively increase the sales of PS4.

It would be awesome. A lot of people are pumped about the PS4 and Oculus Rift. If they put them together, who knows what the sales would be like!

Also, the news is REALLY jaw-dropping. My condolences go out to him... He didn't even get a chance to see it release :(

I think it would be really cool for Sony to have something like that, but didn't they already tried something like that with the Sony TV and 3D glasses? Damn, who even remembers those things? Did they even worked?

I think it would be a good thing... eventually. As you said DrRipley, when technology for it was truly at its peak.
