Warframe (PS4) - Your thoughts?

So what are peoples thoughts on this free-to-play title?

I've been debating whether to download this one or not. It looks like my type of game, but am I correct in saying it's like a Horde mode type of game?

Anyways, let me (us) know your impressions :)

It a fun game ... if you spend real money. And yes, it has a Horde mode (or probably hord mode only?) and you need to farm for loot.
The first planet is ok, but the difficulty spikes up on the second planet. Bad news is that, to forge a better weapon with costing real money, you'll need materials from the third planet...
I don't like in-game purchase, so I don't quite want to put my time on "free-to-play" games. If you are interested, I'd suggest to give it a try. The game is no more than 5G, and PS+ provides a free starter's pack that ensures you enjoying the game for at least three days.

Free to play games are fine as long as in game purchases can also be unlocked over time with gameplay,in that mean in game purchases are just a quicker route to unlock upgrades/weapons etc. Unless its cosmetic only, like camo, backrounds etc like CoD games have with personalization packs.Thats fine if those are pay only.
But not pay to win,and if the only was it to pay for upgrades, that's no fair, free to play or not.

I enjoy Warframe because I can play without feeling the need to pay for it like a lot of other so called free to play games. Though it's more of a distraction while I wait for titles that I really want to come out. That being said I haven't gotten that far into it, so if what the other commentators are saying is true then it becomes a pay to win title which is really disappointing.

I like Warframe as a time waster. It's not a full pay to win title but it does start to cross over into that territory the farther you get into the game which was a shame for me. I still enjoyed it but it's a pretty easy game to ditch when something I really want comes out. Still for a freebie it's pretty fun.

See I don't like games that are 'free to play'......but I'll make it impossible for you to get anything unless you pay money'

I mean I understand they need to do this to make money but why can't they have 'extras' like customization like different skins and weapons etc but have the core game much more accessible. Top it off with the fact that the navigation is somewhat difficult and the game play is somewhat repetitive....I'll give it a pass. Played and not really enjoyed.

Yeah I've read that if you really want to you don't need to pay for anything period! But it makes it more of a grind and you'll probably end spending even more hours with the game. Good thing or bad thing, I guess how much you like the game.

It's an alright game but grew boring really quickly. It's not really pay to win since it's not PvP, but it is a very grindy game. But my main complaint is that it gets really old quickly. There's not a lot of difference between the mission types and a lot of the bases look alike.

Well in some cases you do because you get these gem things, that you start off with some and in order to buy specific things you have to use these gems. You can't earn these in game, I don't think some so content is locked until you use your gem things.

I can't remember the exact name for them.

In most cases you don't have to spend money but the grind is so unreal you'll soon give up.

This game looks appealing to me and free to play with microtransactions doesn't sound too bad. I guess I've been playing stuff like LoL and Dota 2 for awhile so they don't really phase me. Aside from micropayments its free, which is a good thing because you can drop the game for awhile and hop back in months later without feeling you've wasted a lot of money. Anytime I pay for a game full price I feel like I owe it to myself to get my money's worth.

It's free to play, you should just download it and try it out for a few hours.

There are quite a lot of mixed reviews on the title, most people complain about the hoarding system.
Technically you don't have to pay for anything, but be sure to have a lot of spare hours to waste. Even if you do have those hours you'll eventually grow tired of it. They don't want you to grind, they want you to spend money.

With that said, it is a somewhat fun and interesting game to mess around in, atleast for a few hours or so.

It's a great game and it is free-to-play, which makes it even more valuable. I think the gameplay on the PS4 is superior to the one on PC simply because a controller is more suited when it comes to using swords and executing different fluid moves such as jumping or crawling.

It might be one of the most fun games out there!

Well, I finally got around to downloading it and only played the first mission (killing 39 enemies) So far it seems good but man all of it seems very confusing!

Yeah, this was one of my complaints as well. Thankfully, I had started playing it before on the PC version with some friends on TeamSpeak who explained it to me. They really need to add a tutorial version, especially to explain the different mission types. A lot of the time when you roll solo your group just leaves you behind :/

I've found a newer Warframe Review on ps4gamernews .com and this gamer portal is highlighting that the main focus of this game is its co-op capabilities and the fact that it is free-to-play is awesome... The drawbacks? Yes, the article hints on some. Take a look and decide if you'd wanna be in it or out

I played this about an hour yesterday and it was OK. I played solo and did a co-op with another player.

It looks like to do really well, you might have to pay some $, but I am fine with the free parts.
