So i recently got done watching a playthrough of Beyond Two Souls as i do with many games if i dont want to buy them but think theyre interesting enough to watch, and its my understanding that it was made by the same people who made Heavy Rain? I get that the games dont have to be similar but i was very disappointed at how choices really didnt effect anything.
In Heavy Rain it always felt like you were risking something when you picked something or messed up, but in Beyond Two Souls it kind of just felt like there wasnt a way to screw up even when you did. Even when missing a quicktime event in combat, the game would just have you recover pretty easily. I know the point of the game was the story and it was a a really really good one! I just feel like nowadays games have a lot of choices and variety in the story and coming from the makers of Heavy Rain, Beyond Two Souls didnt do a very good job of that.
Did you guys think Beyond Two Souls didnt feel like much other than a movie you can interact with? The gameplay just didnt seem there consequence wise. If your game is going to be made of quicktime events you at least need to punish people for failing them
