Weirdest PS Game You Ever Played

Honestly, most of the games on PS1, in my opinion, are pretty weird - or at the very least "unique". The console was very new and there was a lot of room for experimentation, so it was natural that we would get a lot of odd mixes. Off the top of my head, I could only come up with Kagero and The Street Fighter Movie Game. Which PS games would you consider odd or weird?

I gave LSD: Dream Simulator a try. It's the kind of game you have to keep playing and play in the dark--preferably when you're super drowsy and crashing in and out. My girlfriend had the patience for the game, I didn't. I need a story or objectives...something.

As for me Maniac Mansion was the weirdest game I spend my time playing. It was pretty strange in that the point-and-click notion and the conversation were screwy. The concept used in this game looks like it is drug induced.

Silent Hill was pretty weird... and twisted... and scary... and it was all worth it. But I know that you're not talking about horror games. You're talking about games that try to be cool but end up being weird instead. I think that Irritating Stick fits that description quite well. It's a game where you guide a ball through a maze. The concept isn't really that weird for today's mobile games. But with it being a console game, it really is.

Pepsi Man was pretty unique in that it took the core gameplay of Crash Bandicoot and tweaked it to make a game that was both a good advertisement and a good game. It had the humor of the commercials and did its part well as an interactive advertisement.

I’ve not actually played this myself but have watched many YouTube videos of this game. It has to surely take the title of the most bizarre Playstation game title.

There is no real objective to the game other than to absorb in all the odd environments, objects and sounds. It really is something you watch and simply think "What the...?!". Walking into objects changes the environment and I think the only objective in the game is to avoid the 'Grey Man' which can pop up from no where. If you really get into this game (even just watching it as I've done), it's actually mildly disturbing and even bit scary.

Haha. Pepsi Man was pretty strange but i have to say that i enjoyed it. I like games that are unorthodox.

I have a game like that called Marble Madness, I believe for the NES. I haven't played it in ages but I found it so impossibly hard to control at the time that I really wondered what the point of it was. I'm off to go and dig it out now you've reminded me!:D

Katamari is a game that I thought was really weird the first time I saw it. The whole point of the game is to roll everything up into a ball. There are a couple of levels where you start small and then start rolling up cars and then buildings and then before you know it you're rolling up the continents and your ball becomes as big as the Earth!

I would have to agree with Katamari. That game was a trip and a half to play. I mean, I suppose you could say the mechanics were innovative as far as video games go but it's not exactly my cup of tea.

Pepsi Man...I can't describe it. It's simple in gameplay and execution, but the weirdness comes in its existence really.

I saw Unlosing Ranger and SpaceTiger mention LSD. All I can say is "Weird as hell." I found it odd to play at times. I'd get confused about what I'm supposed to, frustrated that there was no actual objective, drop the game, then come back later.

LSD really is an utterly weird game. I usually play until I get to the violence district. That's my favorite part in the game, but it's seemingly random.

A friend of mine mentioned LSD in passing like a year or so ago, but I never bothered to play it. It didn't seem interesting or anything.
