What do you consider Sony's "flagship" series?

With Xbox, I think most people would say the defining flagship series are the Halo or Gears of War series. What do you think it is for PS3?

Off the top of my head, I'm thinking Naughty Dog games, Killzone, Resistance, God of War and Metal Gear. Overall, I think that the Naughty Dog games are most outstanding overall. What do you think? What game immediately comes to mind when you think "Playstation"?

Id like to think Final Fantasy games are PS jewels, as are the metal gear series as you mentioned. Gran Turismo covers the automotive side of things.

Ratchet and Clank, MLB The Show, which they just announced and looks awesome! Sly Cooper maybe? I wan't to say Uncharted also.

I was an Xbox 360 user this generation and Dreamcast the generation before that. That being said what titles I think of when someone mentioned Sony was Uncharted or God of War.

Metal Gear Solid is an IP that has been with Sony for a very long time. Final Fantasy has been there as well but has some history with Nintendo. When I think PlayStation, I definitely think MGS. God of War is another exclusive that contributes to the console's identity, but it doesn't go all the way back to the first console like MGS.

Naughty Dog has really brought it lately, but I don't think it's been long enough to say for sure. I think you have to consider longevity, though not all games stand the test of time regardless of how good they are. I'm inclined toward God of War, but Metal Gear is close too. I think not having one single flagship series makes the entire catalog more appealing as a whole.

God of War! I could have gone with Gran Turismo but I think God of War has a much bigger impact in gaming in general with all of its mythology and gruesome gameplay. It also has great story. Gran Turismo is just, well, a great racing game. God of War has much more room to operate on and Kratos is such a bad ***! :D

I think God of War and Final Fantasy could be considered as Sony's flagship. Most of the more prominent game titles that I used to solely ***ociate with Sony have already been ported, and these are what remains to me.

Sly Cooper definitely, but not on this generation it was really big on the PlayStation2 same with Ratchet and Clank.
Right now, maybe God of War and Metal Gear.

Yeah I'd have to go with God of War and the Uncharted series. I would also say Metal Gear Solid - but you can also get a majority of those games on the 360 now aside from MGS4.

I would say that God of War and Uncharted are at the moment their most well-known franchises. Unlike Microsoft, though, Sony has much more than just these two...

Like most have said, Uncharted and God of War would be my pick. My question is then, what was Sony's flagship before Uncharted? Final Fantasy or maybe Sly Cooper? I'm not sure.

It would have to be Uncharted. A few years ago you might have been able to say Final Fantasy or Metal Gear, but that is no longer the case because those games are multi platform now.

I would have said Final Fantasy because of how it was exclusive to PS but now a days they have expanded their platforms. I would have to say God of War because of how it was advertised during the PS3 era. I know a lot of people who bought God of War on the PS3 and really it was their exclusive game that they all got.

Agree 100% with FF and Metal Gear. Both titles have held strong since Nintendo was first introduced.

I get your logic here. But remember that Final Fantasy did not start out on a Sony system, it started on Nintendo. I think it is safe to say, however, that Final Fantasy 7, 8, and 10 are at least in the top 5 all time best FF games, all of which originated on the Sony Playstation platform.

Sony has so many that's difficult to pick just one.
Final Fantasy, Crash, Metal Gear, Uncharted, God of War, etc.

Probably MGS/Final Fantasy. Infamous is a pretty huge one for me as well. And there's things like Heavy Rain, Flower and Journey which are exclusives, although not all that popular to be considered a "flagship".
