What game made you want a PSX?

I was 6 or 7 at the time of the release of the PSX, so I was incredibly excited about Spyro the Dragon. Not saying that Spyro is an awful game now, but it would definitely not be a system seller for me anymore. As a kid I thought Spyro was the coolest thing I had ever seen.

Is there any game that made you really want to pick up the original Playstation.

I think the jump from 2D to 3D was too much for me to not want one. Final Fantasy was so big that it came in 3 disks, that thing was crazy back then. All those "incredible" graphics, with games we never seen before. IT WAS THE FUTURE!
Nowadays we are expecting the new consoles to not trying to steal from us. Where is the hype for it? What is new? The industry is beginning to stagnate.

What game? Oh, nothing really. Nothing in particular. I just wanted a PS1 because all of my friends had one at the time. I pestered my parents into buying one, promised them that my grades won't get affected and voila! My wish was granted! My promise to them was broken though. My grades spiraled downwards from then on out.

Good question, I don't know that anymore. I guess it was just the compilation of games itself, you just had the feeling the real deal was going on on the PS1.

I remember seeing FF7 at a flea market. The kid selling it had already beaten it. I wasn't a RPG gamer yet, so I passed it up. Looking back, I should have got it. It would be awesome to have a FF7 in it's jewel case today.

Spyro the Dragon (the very first one that came out September, 1998). I love that game to death. It was my first game ever to play for the PlayStation. I got one in early-mid 1999 and I still have it to this day!

I was 10 when the PSX came out in the US. I wasn't all excited over it because there was nothing I wanted in the launch lineup. When Tomba eventually came out, then I really wanted a PSX.
