What happened to Dark Souls 2: Beta?

So Dark Souls 2 is coming very soon , about 3 months, but some lucky gamers have been able to test the online gameplay through beta testing. And the result for the devs is not good. In fact things have not been going well at all for From Software. I'm hoping that they fix the game but at this point things look pretty bad. Anyone else looking forward to this?

It's still going on. Not sure what you mean by "things looking bad" though, from every review and video I've seen so far, people are saying it's going to be amazing. Not to mention that the difficulty is not only on par with DS, but significantly harder in certain aspects (losing your HP when dying, smaller invincibility windows when rolling, stamina recovering slower, etc.)

Plus the graphics are going to be amazing, even when compared to Dark Souls.

It's because every time they ran into a string of bad code and the game crashed, it got harder and harder to fix.

Where the hell are you getting this information from? I've seen nothing from the network tests (not a beta) that made anyone think things were looking "pretty bad". The network tests already ended a while ago, too. Nothing major. Only things I remember were people bringing up criticism of the regular walking animation (it feels "floaty" or something like that), which is nothing major, and that poise was apparently not implemented into the network test builds. Other than that, some people said it wasn't as difficult as they were expecting (which doesn't mean much when it comes from people that already got a hundred hours and Platinum trophies on both previous Souls games) and that was about it.

I had no idea that they were beta testing Dark Souls 2! Both Demon and Dark Souls are absolute favorites of mine. Considering the past record of the developers I wouldn't be too worried about any bad news coming out of the beta testing. I trust it will all be fixed in time for the release and we will all have an amazingly frustrating time when that day rolls around. Any idea if it's still possible to get into the beta testing?

Well, they had to do maintenance a lot and there were a lot of connectivity issues but you know what? That just means we will not be seeing those issues in the main game

Beta testing was just a network test, really. Very limited amounts of people, far as a I know. It had ended already before this thread was even made, too, I think and there's not more planned tests so no way to get into testing.
