What is the hardest game that you have played on the PS 1?

I think the hardest game for me would be Gran Turismo. I was still a kid back then so I found it hard to compete all the tests in order to get a license. I would play a test over and over. There was even a day wherein all I did was try to complete tests. But, it was rewarding nonetheless. What game gave you a lot of trouble during the PS 1 days?

I thought Spyro was all child's play judging from the look of the game. I thought that anybody could finish it in just a few hours.

Luckily I never played Spyro in my entire life. Maybe if I played that, I would've been frustrated big time.

Vagrant Story and that damn stone dragon still have some issues to solve.
Also, Digimon World and Digimon World 3 were really hard, at least when i was a kid, but now after so many years i found out that the PAL version of Digimon World is impossible to beat because of a bug, so i feel a little cheated.

Digimon was incredibly hard, my digimon always turned into that fat blob of shit and I failed every time...

Yeah, Vagrant Story was hard if your risk kept increasing thus decreasing your hit accuracy. This of course could be negated by using Vera bulbs to decrease the risk. Also, having the right weapon when fighting an enemy is also key to victory. I finished Vagrant Story twice. I loved the challenge. :)

Going to have to agree with Gran Turismo. When I was younger, I just couldn't wrap my brain around simulation racers. I sucked so bad but my friends sucked too so it was fun nonetheless.

GTA 1 was solid i remember trying to do a mission on it and i couldn't even see what i was doing, i don't think i ever played that game again as it was so hard and pretty boring as i couldn't do anything.

That's a really good question! I was fairly young still when I got my Playstation 1, so I do remember struggling with quite a few games, especially when I was getting used to the controller. I would say one of the games that had me beating my head against a wall though would have been Chrono Cross. I did eventually beat the game, but it took me a long time. I actually had a hard time doing a lot of the "quests" in that game. I remember one of the first things I had to do was jump on those komodo dragons I think they were called to get their rainbow scales. It took me forever to find out how to get all three, and when I finally did get them it was smooth sailing up until I got past the mansion and had to find the Hydra. I did not realize I had to go to the beach to change what "time" I was in, so I just wandered around aimlessly going to every area I could on the main land trying my best to figure out a way into the marshes. I actually think I reset the game a few times in hopes I had done something wrong and glitched the game.

Needless to say, even after I figured out how to time travel (100% by accident!) the game itself still took a while to beat. Between challenging boss fights, a different style of combat I have yet to really see in any other game, and the sometimes misleading or hard to understand dialog (for the age I was), that was probably one of the most challenging games I had played up until that point on the PS1. Of course when I replay it now I look back and wonder how on earth I thought it was so difficult to start with. (Aside for some of the battles, those can still be challenging if you don't allocate your abilities/items correctly).

Vagrant Story got some confusing story. It still puzzles me so I haven't really found a way to finish it. Crash Bandicoot got really hard halfway through. It didn't help that I had motion sickness everytime the missions are set on the ocean or requires excessive turning of camera angles.

The hardest game I ever played on the PS1 was Yugioh Forbidden Memories. I think the thing that threw me off about the game was that it didn't abide by the same rules that the card game does in real life. In this game, you never had to make sacrifices or anything, so I would often duel people with pretty strong cards who would just summon them and finish me off in a couple of minutes. To this day I still haven't beaten the game.
