What system had a better library of games - PS1 or PS2?

The PS 1 and the PS 2 ate both great video game consoles. I played them to my hearts content when I was still a teenager. Looking back, which system do you think had the better lineup of games? I'm rooting for the PlayStation 1. What about you?

I'm on the other camp. I think PS 2 had a better overall lineup. I always felt that there was a great leap forward from the PS 1 to PS 2 in terms of the graphics and the support for the console. There were more games being released at the time for PS 2 like God of War and Burnout. Not only that, but you could also play PS 1 games on the PS 2 as well.

I think comparing the two consoles really speaks at how these consoles change the way we play. The PS1 while it had graphics unknown by today's standards. Had great games with superb plots and was just fun to play.

The PS2 pretty much kept with that norm but with better graphics. I can't choose between the two so please don't make me!

PS2 for me as well. I've played many games on the ps2, and still remember one of them, and that particular game is Spyro. Although it is on the ps1, I played it on the ps2 and had a nice overall gameplay.

PS2 for me. The library on that had a great balance on graphics and gameplay, and overall I just remember having more games that I enjoyed there. PS1 was still very much experimental, in my opinion, so I think their games felt a bit more raw and that just doesn't appeal to my taste.

Both are such masterpieces of gaming, is hard to choose just one. But if i really had to choose, i would had to go with the PS2 just because of three titles:

- Shadow of the Colossus
- Metal Gear Solid 3
- Ace Combat 5

Those alone were worth it to buy the PS2, at least for me.

Both consoles have a large amount of games and I've had many hours of fun on both of them. However, if I had to choose, I would pick the playstation 2. The playstation 2 has a larger amount of of games. I also would pick the playstation 2 because it has better graphics.

It's the PS2 for me, thanks to its updated graphics. Games like Manhunt and GTA: SA are known for their addictive gameplay. The PS1 also has great games, particularly in the RPG genre such as Suikoden and Wild Arms as well as Tenchu for the stealth games genre.

It's quite a difficult choice because people expect a certain level of graphical output depending on the year. I enjoyed both PS1 and PS2. Playing PS1 now of course would feel like a huge downgrade, but at the time it was released it was the cutting edge of graphics of any console. I think the PS2 had a better library of games though, I think this is largely because both the graphics and gameplay was more entertaining, so it is a hard choice!

I think and correct me if I'm wrong but the original ps has a larger library of games, now this doesn't make it better just means it has more. I prefer the selection of games on the ps2 and not to mention the vast improvement of graphics.

I'm sorry, but my answer will have to be biased towards the Playstation 1. Honestly, I personally believe that my bias towards the said console has something to do with the age I was in when I was using the PS1. I had a PS1 when I was about 6 years old and every game I played was a blast. As far as I can remember, I was able to almost all of the games that I bought for the PS1. When the PS2 got released, I was a tad bit older, and I slowly losing my interests toward video games, thus leading to the fact that I didn't have much fun playing on it.
