What was the last movie you watched?

Maggie:
Not a zombie apocalypse movie exactly but rather how a family and father cope with their daughter slowly transforming into you know what as a result of infection.
7/10

Project Almanac:
Although I like time travel movies (who doesnt?) this was OK.Nothing more.
5/10
What I am tired of is 'found footage' films which this is too.
Ive come to the decision that Ive had enough of this type of movie and I wont watch found footage style movies anymore.

Chappie:
A robot with a mind/conscience. Not bad overall.
6.5/10

How to Train Your Dragon 2 with my girlfriend. 10/10. It is one of the greatest computer animated movies I've ever seen. Not only from a technical standpoint but also the characterizations are extremely well written. My girlfriend cried during the climax of the movie that's how emotionally invested in the characters you get.

I know! It was fantastic. Not sure which I prefer of the two. But I was very surprised how good these movies are.

Might be watching Chappie tonight. Heard mixed things.

Seriously. I honestly can't make a decision which one I like better. Usually in trilogies there's always one movie that stands out more than the rest. There's always one that doesn't live up to snuff. Whoever worked on HTTYD did one hell of a job and really thought it through. Signs of a good creative team on all ends. Can't wait to start hearing about what's going on in the third movie.

Mad Max Fury Road - 8/10

Believe the hype. It was fantastic. Action was some of the most well filmed, intense moments I've ever experienced. Seriously, go see this!

Oh God. If Sam Worthington was cast, I wouldn't of seen this. Just a very bland, monotone actor.

Depends on what he's cast in.
Clash and Wrath of the Titans nah...rubbish.also rubbish movies.Avatar he was fine,Terminator Salvation quite good.
Mad Max may of suited him.

Chappie - 9/10

FINALLY got around to seeing this. And I wasn't sure what to expect as I've heard very mixed things, mostly negative. My fiancée and I were highly anticipating this and as the negative reviews were crawling in, we lost interest. My fiancée especially as I had to watch this on my own. Well I'm sure glad I checked it out because it was absolutely fantastic. I loved every minute of it. I don't really know why the movie has a 30% on Rotten Tomatoes. Really? Blomkamp's films have all been phenomenal and the effects of the robots in both this and Elysium have blown me away with it's realism. The acting was fantastic (yes, even Ninja and Yo-Landi, but especially Dev Patel who I thought was beyond great) and the story had such heart. I know I'm going to be in the minority here, but I think this is Blomkamp's best film to date. The future Alien films are in great hands.

Highly recommended!

Agree on the Alien films should be great but his best movie is still easily District 9.
Elysium was OK,nothing special.
Chappie, agree all great visually and still a decent watch but a little silly at times,if it was'nt for the way it was filmed and violence it would be a Disney movie.
I would rate it as a 6/10 top's.

btw: Did you notice Peter Weller's Robocop voice on the Scout's at the start? Nice touch I thought lol

Ex Machina - 7/10

Having watched Chappie yesterday, had a tiny bit of deja vu here. But that doesn't mean it wasn't good because it was very good. Pretty good performances and loved the setting. Ending was different, but it felt right. Definitely give it a go at least once. Recommended.

Well...action only wise it hardly lets up and its a spectacle yes.
But there doesnt seem much else.
Tom Hardy as Mad Max was'nt as good as I thought.
I mean his Aussie accent at the narration bit right at the start was fine, but then in the almost the rest of the movie wasnt that good and sounded to much like Bane from Batman still.

imdb user reviews are mixed, some gave it 10 which is wayyyy over rated.
But some give it 1 and thats defo unfair.

And so overall its a decent watch I would say.
Defo not really a great movie..but not thats its bad either.

A 6/10 from me Im afraid.

And I know its not exactly a remake...but I still think the first 2 originals are better.(not a fan of MM3 Thunderdome)

It's all good man :) At least you got some enjoyment out of it - that's the main thing!

Terminator Genisys - 7/10

Really surprised it was actually decent. Had very low expectations, but I left satisfied and very much enjoyed the movie. A few plot-holes went unanswered but I hear they're making more Terminator films. Didn't really buy the new Sarah Connor, but that's because Linda Hamilton will always be the best, but she did ok. Both the new Kyle Reese and John Connor did really good. Don't get a lot of criticism the film is receiving. It was fun and was tons better then both Terminator 3 and Salvation. And Arnie is just perfect. Not much more to say about his character. He was born to play this part and continues to be the best. The negatives I had I can't tell you about because it would spoil a few plot points.

Terminator Genisys:

OK,Finally saw this.

Haze was pretty much spot on this time (He's still off on his Mad Max rating though :p )
Emilia Clarke AKA The Khalessi/Daenerys Targaryen from Game of Thrones as Sarah Connor didnt quite pull it off for me.She wasnt bad but just didnt quite suit the role.
Kyle Reese was OK.John Connor was OK. Arnold ofcourse is in his prime as a Terminator.

(No spoilers) A little weird seeing a few early scenes from T1 redone but then actually slightly different.
Plenty of action and a few cheesy bits in this movie.

I love Terminator films, who doesnt but after watching this I still dont see a real reason why it was necessary.
Personally I dont think it was better than T3 or Salvation, but it wasnt any worse.

btw: Saw 3D screening and apart from a few shots here and there its pointless in 3D.
I dont know why they release some films in 3D when the movie doesnt make use of it. You dont even notice it in this movie most of the time.
Its pointless having 3D just for sake of it.
For proper use of 3D best examples are Prometheus and Avatar still. Not cheesy out of the screen 3D but just depth in screen, thats the best for movies like this anyway.

So yeah, 7/10 sounds about right.

Man of Steel 2/10

Came on Amazon Instant Video and being someone who's never managed to sit through Man of Steel until the end, I decided to watch it. Okay...It wasn't my fault I couldn't sit through it the previous times, I often would start and get called away. So I went into this movie thinking that it would offer an action packed movie with a good storyline but alas it failed on so many levels for me. The storyline was so predictable that I was never enthralled like I have been with other franchise reboots, I'll honestly say the newer Spiderman movies were much exciting that this movie was for me.

The action and special effects were good but time and time again we see that with Super Hero movies, you NEED to have an original and compelling story in some fashion or another and this doesn't deliver it.

Overall I'm forced to give a rating of 2/10 simply because of the lack lustre story, presentation of said story and the fact that it does what every single super hero movie does which starts off a snails pace and then somehow goes from being quiet and less confident to suddenly Mr Invincible which I utterly hate.

P.S Henry Cavill is a terrible actor.

Oh no way...Both the Amazing Spiderman movies were very average. The first 3 with Toby Maguire as Spidey were better.
And Man of Steel was 100 times better than Amazing Spiderman.Easy.

P.S Henry Cavill is a terrible actor.
No...not always anyway....lol...well as Superman I was suprised that he did it very well.
It was a diff kind of Superman, and it was supposed to be,and for that the movie did what it intended too.
The story if Zod and the super criminals etc...well yeah...kinda seen in the old Superman 2 but Man of Steel was done so well you dont even notice :Onya
Unlike StarTrek Into Darkness...The first was great but Into Darkness with Khan again.......meh...disappointing
