What was the last movie you watched?

Grown Ups 2

The first was a guilty pleasure of mine as it looked like they had a blast while filming it which made it even better to watch. This one though wasn't too bad, but wasn't too good either. When the movie starts off with a urination joke, you know it's just going downhill from there.

So if I had to give it a rating: 5/10

Before Midnight

I really, for the first time ever, cannot rate this movie. I absolutely loved Before Sunrise and Before Sunset (would consider them in my top 10) but this one I just don't know. On one hand, I loved catching up with Jesse and Celine 9 years later and it was so good to know they ended up together with children no less. I love these characters. On the other hand - well I can't really say anything unless you want it spoiled so I won't. May need a few days to let the movie sink in more...

Only God Forgives - 1/10

I know this is meant to be a art-house film but my God it's so pretentious! And boring as watching grass grow. It was sooo slow. People walking slow, camera pans slow. I get that it's trying to add atmosphere and mood, but it's done so poorly. I know this film will divide people. Some will love it, some will hate it. I'm in the later if you couldn't already tell.

Bottom line: Snails can outpace this movie!

The Conjuring

Not a fan of horror movies really. I was huge on horror movies when I was a teenager. Have found memories of sitting in my bedroom eating kebabs and having Friday the 13th or Nightmare on Elm Street marathons. But anyways, The Conjuring actually surprised me as I was generally freaked out by this one, and I don't get scared/jumpy easily. Was a good movie. Great suspense, great performance from everybody and great scares.

I recently rewatched The Dark Knight Rises. I just love the Nolan Batman series, one of the finest movies made till date. I just love it. I own it's bluray so I tend to rewatch it frequently.

Other than that, among new movies I watched Man of Steel! Loved it, I don't know why it got so bad reviews, sure it wasn't as good as TDKR but still an epic movie.

I haven't been to the movies in months. But, I have a home theater set up, and I've watched several movies recently. I saw Ip Man and Ip Man 2 a couple weeks ago. Donnie Yen is 50 years old, but he's in unbelievable shape. Although it's based on Ip Man's life during the 1940s, it's not really a "true story". They take many liberties with it. The first film is much better than the 2nd one, but the martial arts in both films is awesome.

Donnie Yen is 50 years old?! Are you serious! My God he ages well.

It got quite mixed reviews. I think the main problem people had with it was they were comparing it to Nolan's Dark Knight films as well as Marvel's Avengers and the rest. But I'm completely biased. (Man of Steel is my favourite film of all time. I've been frowned upon and have had to explain my reasons a few times in defense of it, but I don't care :D)

I am currently watching war horse such a sad film and to see all the men just dying needlessly its so sad the movie is not for people who are quite emotional you get attached to the film.

I watched "The Conjuring"

I would rate it 7 on 10. I liked the whole timeframe and the plot of the movie but, to be honest, i didn't mind it that scary at all! It could've done so much better and the director could've added more scary shots.

The cast of the movie was good, especially Ed and Loraine. The end part featuring exorcism was realy good. Also, since it was based on a true story, i believe that ghosts might actually be real -.-"

Warrior

Saw it before and found it ok. But watched it again with the girlfriend and was much better a second time around. See it purely for Nick Nolte's performance. He was truly remarkable.

I just watched Kick Ass 2 and posted a non spoiler review on the Kick Ass 2 thread. I'm going to go see the World's End at a triple feature event Thursday and its going to be a lot of fun. 3 movies for 20 bucks. That's not bad and all Simon Pegg movies at that so that's really awesome.

Kick Ass 2 - 3.5/5

Class of Nuke Em' High

Who doesn't love Troma films? They're fun, silly and over the top! I really liked this one. Not as good as The Toxic Avenger (will always have a soft spot for Toxie) but I'll for sure be checking out the three sequels that followed - even though they have terrible scores apparently.

Man of Tai Chi

Easily, and probably surprisingly, one of the best films I've seen this year. I started watching this at around 1am in bed and only planned to watch maybe 30 minutes before calling it a night. But I couldn't stop. The movie was so good. Keanu Reeves can direct and man is he ever so good as the "villian". To the point where he is slightly creepy. He needs to do more bad guy roles. The direction was solid, especially the fight scenes. Keanu knows his martial arts. If you even have a slight interest in martial arts, check out this film. I cannot speak highly enough about this one!

I#ve been watching After Earth with Will Smith lately. It was great and I don't know why the reviews were so bad.

Class of Nuke Em' High 2

Not as good, or should I say as fun, as the original, but this one seemed to be even more over the top. Just not in a funny kind of way. Will be watching Part III tomorrow night. Should be... fun?

Pain and Gain

First hour of the movie didn't really grab me, but I will admit it hooked me by the end. And to think this is a true story! Was good. Not great. Mark Wahlberg and Dwayne Johnson are good on-screen together and even had a few laughs. Probably not something I would watch again but still. Glad I saw it.

Star Trek Into Darkness.

It was a decent watch but I wish they wouldnt rehash old stories (Khan in this one),the first one was easily better.

7/10

We're the Millers..lol...was funnier than I thought even when seeing the trailer beforehand.Jason Sudeikis is always funny I think.
Plus Jennifer Aniston looks pretty damn good for 44 :o
