What was your favorite gaming moment on PS1?

Looking back on the PS1, what was the one gaming moment that you look back on most fondly?

For me, it was playing through Blood Omen: Legacy of Kain which, at the time, was the first game I bought for the PS1. I was a Saturn owner and I had anticipated the release of that game for almost a year! When I heard that they had cancelled it for the Saturn, I packed everything up and took it to the local Funcoland (now Gamestop) and traded it all in for a PS1 and two games: Bubsy 3D and Blood Omen: Legacy of Kain!

The story was amazing and the game had visuals and cut scenes that I had never experienced before! I will never forget that game and, as a matter of fact, I just played through it again a couple weeks back!

Final Fantasy VIII had some pretty intense and awesome moments. When Balamb Garden just lifts off the ground and they are like "dude, you can pilot this ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD", when you find a spaceship while drifting in space and they are like "dude, you can pilot this ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD", the colission and war between Gardens, the assault on Pandora's Box.

People might give it a lot of flack, but i really enjoy that game.

I have experienced a lot of fun having moments in the PS 1. The feeling of exploring vast worlds in the different RPG games like Final Fantasy and Xenogears filled me with awe. The different action adventure games like Tenchu and Siphon Filter filled me with adrenaline. But none can beat the feeling of satisfaction when I figured out the number of Meryl in Metal Gear Solid by looking at the back of the CD case. Lol.

I remember the first time playing through FFVII. My brother had somehow obtained a burned copy that could be played on the computer. Well, it worked up until the Weapons awakened, where it would freeze and refuse to continue. That was very saddening and left a lot up in the air.

Recently, I had the pleasure of playing through the whole thing on a real console. Let me tell you, when the moment came for the cut scene I was beyond excited. It was a great to get that closure and continue the story line.

I think it will be Crash Bandicoot, Spyro and Tekken 3.
Crash and Spyro were pretty good games, and I enjoyed them a lot when I was younger.
Tekken 3 is probably my favorite fighting game ever, in my opinion it is better than the new Tekken games.

God, I hated Spyro. Everything was so cute and colorful and.. ugh..

Good game when it comes to gameplay etc. but a purple baby dragon? No thanks.

It was either beating Crash Team Racing for the first time, or beating The Legend of Dragoon for the first time. The song that plays in the credits of TLoD (the same song that plays in the intro) is awesome.

I thought that Crash Bandicoot was one of the best Playstation 1 games. I also enjoyed the Madden games as they were pretty groundbreaking on Playstation at the time. Playstation had the best graphics when it was released so I had to have the Madden for it.

I thought the Shower Scene from Parasite Eve 2 was one of the crowning moments of glory for the PS1. I learned so much the day that I first say it. Still, even now, it brings tears to my jaded eyes.

Best PS1 gaming moment ever is when I became engrossed in the Resident Evil series, there was no game before that was quite like it and many imitations but none as good as the original in survival horror. The atmosphere that this game created from the start was very unsettling and when you get the spliced in video scene of a zombie eating someone and turning to look at you not only was that scary but a first for gaming and interaction within gaming that has yet to be beat. Resident Evil changed everything about the way we viewed and play action games on consoles. Running a close second is Metal Gear Solid which is a genre defining game in every sense of the word and the VR missions rock.

Probably the Tony Hawk games, actually. I never thought I'd actually enjoy a skateboarding game because I was never one of those kids who likes skateboarding or extreme sports. However, what Tony Hawk proved to me was that skateboarding can be fun and it makes for a pretty good game!

Well there wasnt a moment specifically but i really loved the Spyro games. They were super fun as a kid and really interesting with all these secret areas to get to and things to collect. It was my favorite :)

i really can't remember. but my fondest memory was buying the console. i stared at the back of the box for a good ten minutes when i opened it. i still have that box. i think the first day that you play a console is always the best memory for that console.

For me, it was quality time with my brother. Playing together was our time of bonding and having a fun time with each other. Now that he's no longer with us, it's my way of remembering him. We had so many memorable moments.

It has to be the first time I ever played the PS1. Me and my brother discovered a gaming parlor close to our home and the guy there had a console running on CDs. We had a Sega Genesis and our neighbor had an SNES and so I had only ever seen cartridge consoles till then. We sat down and asked him for a fighting game. He put WWF Smackdown Know Your Role in and being huge fans of wrestling at the time we went crazy for an hour or two. The graphics were beyond anything I had seen till then and the gameplay seemed much more exciting. We then played an hour of Soul Edge before parting with pretty much all the money I had in my pocket at the time (it wasn't much) I think I went to that place every weekend until I bought my PS2.
