When do you expect the Vita to get an official price cut?

For a fair amount of time, the media and general public have been calling for the Playstation Vita to have a price cut. There have been temporary store price cuts from stores both retail and online. But an official price cut might give a decent boost that lasts.

They didn't announce one back in February (with the exception of the Japan price cut). Nor have they made word about it during E3. However, Gamescon is coming up soon. Do you feel the price cut will finally come during this year's Gamescon?

Very difficult to say to be honest. It's been out for a while now and if they were desperate to get more sales, we would have probably seen some major cuts by now. With the PS4 just round the corner, I think they would want to spend more resources on marketing the PS4 so I think that the Vita is slowly being phased out bit by bit. We might see some reductions during this years holiday period, but honestly I don't know how much we can except here.

This is talked about in another thread, so I'll update this one too. There's been sales revolving around the games on the PS Vita, but the Vita itself hasn't come down in price. Japan just had a sale and its talked about in most of the blogs yesterday. The thing is with the Vita that Sony doesn't view it as something that cuttable at the time. Its full functionality will be available to people once the PS 4 comes out so there probably won't even be a discussion of a price chop until further into the PS 4's life.

They don't even need to do that. Release a patch to cut the restrains on proprietary memory cards. There, you can still cheap those retarded expensive cards to idiots, and smart people will buy those same cards for around 10$

To be honest, I doubt they would do that. The reason they have this proprietary format crap going on is because they're friggin' scared to death of piracy after what happened to the poor PSP. They should just drop the prices for these cards so that they are around the same prices of regular SD cards at least. THAT, combined with a price drop for the Vita itself, would make the Vita sell like hotcakes once games like Tearaway and Killzone come out.

I think maybe when ps4 comes out as many people will stop buying vita since ps4 is almost the same price they will have to lower there prices otherwise i'm sorry to say no buisness will be made if they do not very soon its already receiving bad press for its price.
