When will PS4 players no longer need ps+ for online modes

I thought that was only over the weekend. I do not see why people are so bothered by PS+. Sure its $40-50 a year--sometimes you can find it for $30--but you get two free games every month and better service.

I don't think it's ever going to happen, but I have no issues with paying $50 a year to enjoy the online modes and yeah, get some free games too in the process. In my opinion, i's a win-win for everyone.
