When will they make PS4 actually good?

Pre-ordered my ps4, got it on launch day. So far pretty underwhelmed. Mainly bought it for BF4 which is a SHAMBLES, it's an insult to the franchise. Got AssCreed Black Flag as well which Im not gonna finish, it's just a cross-gen mongrel game, and after finishing every past AssCreed, I think im bored of the franchise. But whats bothering me about PS4 is how little I feel im getting....

Share button still doesnt work. Dashboard has little to no functionality. I cant even change the background colour. PS3 owners get two full retail games with their playstation plus, PS4 owners get last-gen standard arcade games. Dont Starve? I mean, really guys? Ive got more advanced games on my phone. Glad I swapped from Microsoft to Sony this generation, but Im seriously underwhelmed by what I got for my money. And I know people will say "its only just out, give them a chance....." - I dont care, they had the launch planned for ages. Seriously thinking about trading it and my games in and going PC for dayz. When I heard ps3 folk were getting metro last light and bioshock infinite with their plus subscription, and we were getting a sub-par indie game, must admit I was rather perturbed. They should have made playstation plus free for the first two months for the people who went out and pre-ordered and bought on day one. Theres absolutely zero reward for adopting early.

Sure as hell wont be buying another console at launch, and im not even convinced ill last till summer with my ps4. I look at dayz/arma3 footage, then look at what im playing, just makes me wanna go "fudge it, im getting rid of this thing"

What do other people think? Glad you went early? Horrified at the state of battlefield 4, a once proud franchise? Annoyed at the garbage game selection? Yeah me too.

Loving mine so far. I'm not a BF4 player, but I hear its really bad for everyone. Thats not a PS4 problem, thats an EA problem.

Oh yeah brah I know, but there's nothing to play while they fix it....like.....nothing! Its either play battlefield or just dont play. I didnt spend 350 bucks to just not play my new console

They defo need additions and fixes to the system, more customizations likes themes/color etc.
As for BF4,Ive never had a problem when I play it,but then I havent played it a lot.

I know in future cross system games will not be like they are now,for eg next CoD game will made for next gen systems in mind, with current systems being a variation on it and don't forget many current games were made when the PS4 specs were not finalized.

Hmm,perhaps in your case you should have just waited a year before buying the PS4.

I think it comes down to the whole 'buying a console at launch' deal. You're never going to get your 'moneys' worth so to speak at the start. I mean I got my PS3 a year into the life of PS3 and therefore I had a huge amount of games I could play. However when you're only a few months in, of course there won't be many games.

So far,I love my PS4,Just got it and just finished Tomb Raider(which is amazing btw),Got Ghosts which i finished the campaign on X1 and it sucked and just got Outlast which i can't wait to play!PS4 is awesome.

I am 100% with you on that. If I didn't already have a nice gaming PC I wouldn't have bought my PS4 so early. One fell into my lap on black friday so I just went for it. Generally speaking, early adopting any new technology comes with pitfalls but I feel like the launch selection has been significantly weak.
I would def rather have my PC than my PS4 right now if that helps. I am guessing it will probably be next Christmas before there is a steady release of games optimized for PS4 instead of cross gen mongrels:D:D

Someone on here said it best (I forget who), but when you buy at launch you're basically the beta tester for everyone else who will wait until later on to get a PS4. I can somewhat (a soft somewhat) understand being disappointed in features not working, lack of activity, lack of games, etc, but you got the console at launch. That first couple of months is always lackluster after the hype has died down (hype caused by sites, blogs, and we gamers) and that first year is generally slow going as far as game consistency even when there is a promise of a lot of games being released.

I could be wrong, but I don't believe most of us just decided to get their PS4 without paying attention to any of the news and build up and came in a week before launch and said "I'm going to get a PS4!" and totally forget about any the prior almost 20 years of PS or even just the PS3 launch itself (since PSX and PS2 didn't really have dashboards or significant technical issues, put the disc in and play, that's it. Nothing to navigate). In 2006 people were complaining about there being nothing to play on PS3 and during 360's launch.

...exceptions given to gamers who started gaming in the middle of the last generation since by then technical issues would've been solved as far as the console is concerned and they would've been waist deep in games by then. PS4 really would've been their first actual launch. Remember PS4's launch before PS5 comes out.

Ha! History always repeats itself especially with gaming. I remember that people were disappointed with 360's launch and saying that PS3 had no games to play. There were games, they weren't all that for the most part, but they were there.

These are words to heed. Chances are that when PS5 comes out, the selection off the bat will be similar in depth and multiplats. Be prepared.

I really hope they name it something other than PS5...maybe PSV. Who knows, but yeah. Keep your PS3. I kept my previous consoles and will be holding on to them until the games pick up for PS4 and X1.

I think the problem is that early adopters have an unprecedented sense of entitlement. The lack of gameplay and the bare bones user interface is the price of early adoption. I think it would be unwise to get rid of the console so early into it's life cycle since it will definitely get an influx of games starting this very month and going forward.
