Where's Tekken for the PS4?

I'm a Tekken fanatic through and through. I play the games both on consoles and in the arcades (yep, I like the competition in the arcades). So, I've been patiently waiting for news about Tekken for the PS4 but the developers seem to be quite mum about it these days. I know that there will eventually be a Tekken release on the next gen consoles. But when will that be? There's a lack of versus games on the PS4 and people who love the genre are in a total drought.

Who knows,we can be pretty sure there will be,eventually.
Also note that I dont think there are ANY fighting/beat'em up games on PS4 at all at this moment.

My guess is Tekken could pop up between....late this year to mid next year in Japan in arcades and a year after that on consoles. That's just going Namco's schedule of getting that first Tekken of a new generation out either the year of or a year after a PlayStation console hits stores and the game hitting actual consoles a year or so after that. Tekken 4 came out in 2001, hit PS2 in 2002 (which was out in 2000). Tekken 6 came out 2007, hit consoles 2009 (PS3 was out 2006). The only exception was the first Tekken which was out three months prior to the PS1 launch.

That's some pretty good estimating. It's not concrete, but 3 generations of a pattern seems valid. At any rate, I think it's safe to say that we might not get back to the PSX and PS2 era of Tekken releases when there 2 or 3 main storyline Tekken games and then the tag series.

Tekken won't come out for some time but rest assured, it will come out soon. I think development for this genre is stalling more and more and it seems the trend these days in gaming has been towards gaming genres other that 1v1 style games. I love tekken since I grew up playing such games but they're getting more unpopular.

Tekken 6 didn't gain too much popularity, because the fighting genre isn't too much popular these days I think. It might come a Tekken 6 remake for PlayStation 4, but I don't think that will actually happen.

This makes sense. I don't think fighting games have been selling particularly well, unfortunately. I'm not a huge fighting game player (in fact I typically don't like them), but I'm kinda in the mood for a new Soul Calibur. :)

Fighting games are more popular that they've ever been, just look at how many get released now.

I think it's just not been long enough since Tekken Tag 2 came out (still going strong in the conpetitive scene) and they might be working on Tekken X Street Fighter so it may be a while before we see a new Tekken.

I honestly don't think development on the fighting/beat'em up genre is stalling. I think it is something like a very low popularity decline from the fans, not entirely sure what could be causing it thought.

I like the Tekken series, they've always been challenging and fun to play.
I'm sure that, sooner or later, it will come out.

Tekken will come out eventually, I mean its the sole reason why we bought a PS back in the days. But I guess its more on the popularity, but I do hope its in development cause whats PS without Tekken.

The last one came out in 2012 and in 2013 there was the Tekken Online for PS3 which is a free to play. Let Namco some times.

Namco has a few franchises that could be in the works at the moment--gots to get that Pac-Man out, son--and as its been said Tekken Tag 2 came out fairly recently and is still in competition circles. Fighting games typically don't have that rapid development schedule. A game will come out and you just wait until the next one hits.
