Which Game Have You Regretted Buying Instantly?

Any games you've excitedly purchased upon launch, or maybe a bit later, only to be given - in your opinion - a pile of garbage!?

There's been a few games I've played that I was disappointed by, but mostly on the PC. We're focusing on Sony's PlayStation 3, here!

Fallout: New Vegas -- I was initially disappointed by this game, as I was a huge fan of Fallout 3. I was not a fan of the desert.

HOWEVER.

I'm replaying it lately and I now love it. The trick? I ignore the story

How about you guys?

Modern Warfare 3, it was kind of fun but I didn't really like it. Also, COD: Ghosts, though I found my calling in the game, using the FP6 shotgun, but in the end, I sort of wish I didn't buy it at all :'(

I kinda regret buying Soul Sacrifice for Vita. Not because it's bad, hell I think it's an excellent game, but because I've barely played it and it's being added to PS+ in my region next week

I regret buying BEN 10 Galactic Racing for PS Vita. It's a bit like a bad rip off from Crash Bandicoot.
I still own the game but I haven't played it in ages.

Call of duty: Black ops.
I didn't like the game at all, I mean the story hasn't that bad and had it's good moments, but the multiplayer was, in my opinion, really bad and a step backwards from Modern Warfare 2.

Instant buyers remorse and regretting doing so? Easily has to be Heavy Rain. Sure the game was great, but seeing as I couldn't connect my PlayStation 3 to the internet at the time, I couldn't even get past the FBI Section of the game since when unpatched, the entire screen turns to static and blasts noise into the headphones. Plus, the game just wasn't that fun physically for me, I had more fun watching it.

Guacamelee. It was a game that i first seen at e3 and was fairly impressed with it, maybe it would be nice. But after playing for 2 hours i was more like "oh boy, what have i done, i could have waited for a price drop or for it to be free on Plus". Aside from that one, i don't think any other made me feel like that.

But after playing for 2 hours i was more like "oh boy, what have i done, i could have waited for a price drop or for it to be free on Plus". Aside from that one, i don't think any other made me feel like that.

Guacamelee's rather cheap and pretty good, though, despite being short... one could always wait for price drops, sales or PS+ IGC additions, though!

For me it was Final Fantasy XII. I played FF X long after it was released. When I beat FFX, FFXII was still new, so I bought it. The change in the battle system was not for me. At the end of the day, gameplay is the most important. I had zero desire to play the game just to experience the story.

I know someone is going to have my legs broke for saying this but... I regret buying The Last Of Us. I just can't get into it

Definitely COD: Ghosts. I got a new system and decided to use that game to get me back into the "zone" with my gaming. Suffice to say, it didn't live up to the expectations that I had planned, and definitely ended up being a waste of time in the end. Especially because games like COD aren't my strong point, anyway, so maybe a simpler game would have been a better approach for me anyway. But oh well. What's done is done.

Not surprising that happened with a Final Fantasy game. They vary so much in style and gameplay now, it's crazy.

Rippin Riders for the dreamcast. It eventually grew on me but i regretted the purchase as soon as i popped the game in.

The thing with COD is that if you've played one, you've played them all. They change the campaign and add a few things to the multiplayer but the games essentially remain the same.

This was way back when because I'm definitely a lot more careful with my purchases now, but the last one I seriously regretted purchasing was Afro Samurai. It wasn't that terrible, but it wasn't really good either. I don't know what I was expecting from another adaptation, I guess I was just hoping they would show this particular one some love because from the cartoon I could imagine a lot of good things that could be done with it. However, I eventually played it and found out that you are just supposed to slash enemies and find hidden switches, total let down, I don't think I even reached past stage 2 before I gave it away. I chose to give it away too instead of selling it because I would feel guilty getting someone else's hard earned money for that, which is a lot more than I could say for those who make those things.

I bought Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter for PC and regretted buying it instantly because of how awkward the mechanics were on PC.

MAG was horrible. It was definitely aimed at the hard core FPS gamer and I am not exactly a hard core gamer. More casual. I know the learning curve for FPS' is a few hours but it took me a couple day on MAG to get a couple kills and was just like... ugh... this sucks...

This might come as a shock to many, however I regretted buying Skyrim when it first came out. I don't have a ton of free time for gaming, and played it maybe less than 20 hours since release. It isn't a bad game, I just have other games I'd rather play. With steam sales it makes a ton more sense to buy the 'Ultimate' bundle when that goes on sale sometime down the line. Patient Gamers unite!

But oh wait we're focusing on Playstation games! In that case I regret buying Red Faction: Guerrilla. It was cheap and on sale, but I just really didn't enjoy the gameplay. Oooh look you can break things! Now go on a ton of repetitive missions. :|

Recently, Sonic: Lost Worlds. It is incredibly awful, which I didn't expect since Generations was great.
