Which PS1 or PS2 Games Would You Remake In HD?

I love the old games, but I hate that they're not widescreen sometimes. If Sony could or would remake a few games scene by scene and with the exact same mechanics, gameplay, but with graphic detail of current consoles and of course, in widescreen, which would you choose?

I'd personally choose Tomb Raider to be the first, as that is one of the biggest classics and I'd love to play through all of those environments with today's technology, especially the training part of the game in the mansion because I remember that the most. I wouldn't change anything else though, everything else was pretty much perfect in that game including the music cues and the dead silences. Would you guys like this, or would you rather that games remain as they are? If you would like this, which games would you put up for nomination?

Hard for me to say, especially since three of of my favorite PS2 games are already being remade in HD and one is even coming out in September. I think for me, I would have to say Star Ocean: Till The End of Time. It was one of my favorite PS2 games ever, as the battle system was great and the story was amazing. The game was also 2 disc, so I definitely enjoyed it for a long time.

Well one of my favorite game for PS2 is Jak 3, I would normally say GTA San Andreas but GTA V is basically the same thing.

I loved Star Ocean: Till the End of Time, too. I know I got pretty far into the game, but I don't know how close to the end I was. I remember it fondly, though, which is a good thing. I'd definitely play it again if they released it in HD.

Another one I'd love to see is Rogue Galaxy. That game was the most pleasant surprise I think I've ever played, since I sort of bought it on a whim and ended up loving it (I think it may be one of my all-time favorites).

Tenchu deserves a HD remake, with better stealth kills as well as expanding the number of playable characters in the story mode aside from Rikimaru and Ayame. In addition to the main storyline missions, they can add a bonus level or two, similar to Through the Portal, where you can stealth-kill various gang members as well as police officers, similar to Rockstar's Manhunt.

I have a lot of games on my list that I want to be remade on HD. I think I have also mentioned them in another thread. Anyway, I also want to see how Nectaris would be remade. It's such a great strategy game and I miss it. Destrega also comes to mind. It was a very unique fighting game for the PS1 that was similar to Power Stone. I think that if it would be remade in HD, it would be a big hit.

I also would want to see Rival Schools remade on HD. I bet that it could hang with the big titles like Tekken and Street Fighter.

Agreed on that one as I like specifically its sequel Project Justice. The Triple Techniques are one of my favorites in that game, particularly Pacific and Gedo High's techniques, as well as playing all three variants of Batsu in Free Mode (Regular Batsu, Burning Batsu, and Vatsu [Kurow's disguise]).

I didn't realize they were doing this practice already. Which games are they making this for, and have they done this for other games as well? I'd love to get to compare both footages and see how it compares.

I so want this to happen.

Sony overlords, if you are reading this, I highly request that you make an HD-remake of Azure Dreams! Please, I want to feel my childhood again. I will do anything, Sony. Anything

The cool thing about HD remakes (or re-releases) is that I get to play the games I missed way back when. I wasn't too aware back then of all the good games out there, so it was mostly word-of-mouth that got me playing all the classics. There were plenty that I missed, but I can't think of too many off the top of my head. I also wish they'd charge just a little less for them, but that's just me.

I don't really understand the point of the HD Remakes, I mean I myself have gotten the Splinter Cell trilogy but otherwise there have been none that I wanted. I kind of feel like the games should be left how they are or if they are going to be ported then at least done well, considering a lot of the HD remakes I've seen have just been really bad and not enjoyable. An example I would have to propose is Stranger's Wrath, although it wasn't a PS2 game it was still great and when they made and HD port to the PC it was just god awful and basically broken. With all the things I've said in mind I guess if they can be done well by a good company I see no real problems.

Granted I've only played a few, but I enjoy it for the updated graphics. Plus, not everyone keeps all of their consoles--assuming they even still work. Sometimes the games are difficult to find in decent condition because they haven't been in production for a while, so being able to download a digital copy helps.
