Who do you think is the coolest villain in Metal Gear Solid for the PS1?

I have finished Metal Gear Solid for the PS 1 four times. I wanted to unlock everything including the secrets like the Bandana and the Stealth suit. I was also so engrossed with the villains that fighting them was always so exciting and engaging. I still remember my battles with the Vulcan Raven. He had a tank and a Vulcan Cannon. Fighting with him was so much fun. Who do you think is the coolest villain in MGS1?

I personally believe that the coolest villain/boss in Metal Gear Solid is the Cyborg Ninja a.k.a. Grey Fox. I loved the fact that this was one of the bosses wherein you really had to strategize and plan your actions because he would go invisible all the time. In addition to that, the battle was done through hand-to-hand combat! I freaking love CQC! I guess one more reason why I find him cool is, obviously, because he is a ninja.

'Nuff said.

(Sniper Wolf boss fight was freaking awesome, too)

Lol. Yeah, you needed to defeat the Ninja using hand to hand combat. It's ironic that Solid Snake could defeat him with his fists but he could not defeat him with a gun because the Ninja could block the bullets with his sword. It was a cool boss fight too. However, I found it to be quite easy. Punch-kick combo, run. Punch-kick combo, run. :D

I remember fighting this guy, took me quite a while because you have to develop your technique in order to beat him. Metal Gear solid is an awesome game, and I think I definitely agree Ninja was one of the coolest and 'nasty' characters on the game, LOL.

I know, right? His lines freak me out! When I fought him, I thought that he was some kind of sadist. He wanted you to punch him and make him feel pain. As a 9 year old kid back then, that scared the hell out of me. Nevertheless, he looked cool and awesome. I loved the scene where he killed a whole group of soldiers in a hallway. I guess I was a sadist back then, too.

Hurt me more. More, more!

It's a tie really: If Grey Fox counts then Grey Fox, although he really isn't a villain. I can't get that scene out of my head with the corridor filled with bodies and blood and him twisting his head frantically, screaming: "Make me feel it! Make me feel ALIVE again!"

Also Psycho Mantis, he's just amazing, such an eery and creepy character -- and the whole switching ports on the ps1 was awesome. Did anyone else try that on Mantis in MGS3? It's quite hilarious if you do.

Oh my God, thank you for reminding me about this guy! The boss battle with this guy gave me one of the biggest mindf*cks I have felt in my entire gaming life. As a naive kid, I thought to myself, "how does the game know which port the controller is plugged in?!" Damnit, even thinking about it right now gives me the chills.

Haha, yeah, I was amazed by the way Psycho Mantis could be defeated. I don't remember who told me to put the controller in port two. At first, I thought that it was all a prank. But I said, oh what the heck. I thought it was magic. I couldn't help but snicker whenever psycho mantis would say that he couldn't read my mind.
