Who has played Bust a Groove?

I think this dancing game came out before Dance Dance Revolution. It was another rhythm game in line with Pa Rappa the Rapper and Um Jammer Lammy. The game required players to tap buttons in order to make the in-game characters perform some dance moves. Have you ever played Bust a Groove before? Did you have fun with it?

I actually played both Bust-A-Groove and Bust-A-Groove 2! I personally found both games to be quite fun. I was around 11 and the game wasn't too complex for me to play, but was also challenging enough at some points in order to get through some of the higher dance sequence moves. When I re-listen to the songs today they are obviously quite cheesy sounding, but when I remember them in my mind as a pre-teen, they were so great! I think for the time the game was released and for what it was it was a very good game. To be honest, if I still had it or if they made it on PSN for fairly cheap, I would probably still play it just for nostalgia's sake. Come to think of it, about a month ago I stumbled across some videos of it on Youtube and was watching some of my favorite characters (Kitty-N and Shorty) with their songs.

If I am not mistaken, they also had a demo of this game in one of the earlier issues of Official Playstation Magazine...I was only ever missing maybe 10 issues of that magazine all together. Whenever I think back on Bust-A-Groove, it always reminds me of some of my earliest PS1 days, and I can't help but get that tingly feeling like I did when I was just a kid excited to play a new game.

This game had so much funk going into it, it was hard to play while just dancing along with songs.

I played online a demo of Bust a groove. It seemed to be an ok game but nothing that I would have bought to that time.

It was a fun game, but I never actually bought it. I just bogarted my friend's copy ever now and again. Of course, I don't typically deal with these kinds of games so I probably wouldn't have ever bothered with it if she hadn't had a copy.

Lol. Bust a Move is an entirely different game. I was actually confused with these two games before. I thought that Bust a Groove was a sequel to Bust a Move. Bust a Groove was a love it or hate it game before. I did not love the game outright but it grew on me.

I actually never got the chance to play Bust a Groove becuase at the time, it just really didn't seem like the type of game I would enjoy playing. Still, now that I look back on it and after playing Dance Dance Revolution, I really felt like I missed out by not giving the game a chance. Hopefully I might be able to try it out one day and see if I like it.

Actually, it only keeps your fingers moving. Lol. I think it can't be played by a dance pad. It could only be played with a controller I guess - much like Pa Rappa the Rapper and Um Jammer Lammy. The games like DDR, that's the game that really kept your entire moving.
