Who Here Is An Ex-Xboxer?

I've always been a Playstation fan, not really because of MS hate or anything, it's just that where I'm from PS is the popular console and the Xbox 360 might as well be non existent, so I can't say I ever really had much experience with an Xbox. I did get to play it once or twice, and it really wasn't enough for me to notice much difference. Although, I really hated that their controllers required AA batteries. I felt that was a little bit backwards and unfathomable in this day and age. Besides that, I had fun with it, including the Kinect and the difference in the controller didn't bother me all that much either. That said, I'm curious if any of you out there are former fans of Xbox and what made you jump ship, even as the DRM policy was retracted?

Well, given my history, I am a jump shipper by nature, I must admit. When I finally decided to buy a console I went with the Play Station 2. When I decided to buy another console I decided to go with the XBox 360 over the Play Station 3(it made sense to me because I already had a PS2, you see). Now, if I buy another console I will definitely go back to Play Station. Microsoft really disappointed me with their new policies, retracted or not. Obviously, the only reason they didn't do it was because of the back lash. I do not want to give a company like that my money. Also, the new Play Station is cheaper, which is also a huge plus for me.

Might as well sort of put my hand up here. I was big into Xbox 360 a couple of years ago until the end of last year. I had always had the PS3 but have to admit it collected dust after a while. What made me change? When I discovered some fantastic exclusives (God of War, Motorstorm). Then E3 came and it was just the final nail in the coffin. There are a lot more reasons why I abandoned the Xbox - trust-wise they are horrible, their greediness and arrogance, the community are downright horrible (maybe that's just my experience though) and I cannot support a company I have a huge distaste for. Sure they reversed their policies, but it really doesn't matter. You know they will implement those features eventually down the line. I could probably go on, but I'd rather not :)

The only times I go on the 360 now is to play Minecraft with my girlfriend. And that's deteriorating.

Hmm, you could say that I'm an ex Xboxer. Though I still have an Xbox 360 and am still playing some games on it every now and then (mmm, DOA beach volleyball) and I was pretty neutral regarding both the 360 and the PS3, I'm now leaning more towards Sony when it comes to the Next Generation consoles. Microsoft's recent moves has greatly affected their image and I'm most certainly going to purchase a PS4 first.

I'm technically not an ex-Xboxer, since I still play it, but I did switch from the 360 to the PS3 recently for a while. I bought the PS3 after I felt that I had exhausted the 360's library to some extent. There are still a ton of games I haven't played, though, so it would be very difficult to stop playing a console permanently. That's why I'm sticking with both my Xbox 360 and PS3, even after the Xbox One and PS4 come out.

I'm not an ex-Xboxer but I don't find the appeal of the Xbox One very strong. I love gaming and I think consoles are pretty fun and all good to have but the Xbox One hasn't impressed me. It has about as much buzz appeal as the PS 3 had when it first hit the market. I think it took Sony some time to find their stride during this console war. Now, the PS 3 has a really strong following and the 360 is more of a media center. It became less about gaming and more about capturing a large market, but because of the premium price, I don't think the One will do well.

I'm mainly a PC gamer but I do like to keep a current gen console for some great games that never make it to the PC for example I bought my Xbox 360 just for Red Dead Redemption. In retrospect it was a pretty terrible decision, having to pay extra for Gold is a real dealbreaker really. It especially angered me when I wanted to watch netflix which I was already paying a subscription fee for and then they wanted me to pay extra for live. In combination with all the terrible practices that the Xbox One has, it is only natural to leave that behind and look towards a better alternative - the PS4. So yes I was an Xboxer but I am looking forward to picking up a PS4.

I wouldn't consider myself an Ex-Xboxer, but I would admit that I converted from the Xbox to PS once Microsoft released all the information about their DRM policies. After they reverted it, I don't really look at them the same anymore, and I applaud Sony for listening to their customers, and outdoing Microsoft. By no means will I stop playing the Xbox as a whole, but I generally like Sony more than Microsoft now.

I've never favored one developer over another, and for good reason. The only system I really "dropped" was the Sega Genesis, but that was because Sega hasn't been making new consoles. I've always played Nintendo, Sony, and Microsoft consoles, despite the dumb things each one says or does. The only thing that makes me favor one console over the other is the price (and price of the games, which are usually very similar).

I've always been a Sony players, but I almost turn to Microsoft several times.
Historically, I've always felt that Sony was listening to the players. Microsoft never gave me that impression.

So I'm not an ex-Xboxer. :)

I used to play PS2, but with the onset of the PS3 vs. Xbox 360, I went with the 360 because it was much much cheaper and just a better choice overall, at launch. Since then, I've bought a PS3 (with the price drops, who wouldn't?) and after E3, I'm convinced that I'm going to buy a PS4. So I guess I wasn't really on either side, so to speak, but originally I was an Xbox 360 guy, and Sony won me over.

I grew up on Sony but branched out to 360 for about 2 years when it released. Then sold it and went back to my original allegiance.

I went PS1 - PS2 - 360 - futurely PS4
Definite mistake on my part, I never should have left Sony :)
But now I'm coming back home so that's good

I been on both sides most of my gaming life, I've never really been one sided when it's come to games. Basically I've had or used most of the consoles for various games depending on what I have wanted to play. I mean I usually ended up playing on either the Playstation or PC but that's because it's had most of the games I've liked or just the platform I prefered over Xbox/Wii.

I am an ex X-box user and honestly I would have got a Playstation 3 over an X-box 360 if I would have known on Playstation you don't have to pay for Live, but to late now.:p

I am sure I can speak for many people when I say that I could care less about the fan wars. In fact, no aspect of being a fanatic seems particularly appealing to me considering the kind of people who take such trivial things seriously. The only thing that concerns me about a system is, to be honest, the system itself. Its pros and its cons, exclusives and non exclusives. Nothing else matters but that. Most of the time I end up getting both the latest Xbox and PS for the mere fact that I want to play some exclusives. With that said, I could say that I play my PS3 more than my 360 and call myself an "ex-Xboxer", but the truth is that I and anyone who can afford it will probably purchase both as, despite the differences between the Xbox One and the PS4, they are amazing in their own right and it's a shame that people miss out on experiences because they clique themselves in their fantasy fanatic worlds.
