Who's getting the new 1TB PS4?

I'm thinking about upgrading to the new slimmer and more powerful PS4, because I download all the time and this new console looks awesome. On the other hand, I doubt it will be long before a true PS4 Slim comes out, which will be MEGA Epic, so I might just wait... not sure.. Anyone else upgrading?

I have A 2TB hdd in my PS4. The HDD was $100(on sale). No matter how you look at it you will be paying $100 to upgrade your HDD. might as well do it your self and have double the space

More powerful? How so?
Probably not

I was thinking the same thing. But I'm assuming OP means by the hard drive. I won't be getting it. My white is barely 1 year old. I am filling the hard drive, but storage space is cheap. If I really wanted to, I can put in a 4TB for around a 100 bucks. HDDs are cheap now a days. Not sure why they settled on 500 gigs in the first place.

I swapped my PS4's HDD for a 1TB one day one.
So other than that it may use less power but that hardly a reason for most of us to 'upgrade' to a newer one.

Upgraded HDD to a 2TB back in Jan. I'm not aware that a new 1TB PS4 is 'more powerful'?
Was sick of having to constantly delete or backup games/shared gameplay

I'm considering changing my old ps4 with the new 1TB. I need the extra storage but most of all my old ps4 is noisy as a vacuum-cleaner. The rumours that the new ps4 would be lighter an more energy efficient gave me high hopes for a solution to the noise problem with a new ps4. Then I came across this article that worries me.

techradar.com/news/gaming/consoles/sony-announces-a-1tb-ps4-and-one-that-s-slightly-lighter-1297405

Anyone know if this is true. I am european. When will we benefit from this new design?

I put in the Nyko Databank and put in a 2TB 3.5 hard drive already.

Happy as is :D

I would like to put a SSD in though, at some point.

Are the performance gains worth the cost? From what I hear load times are only marginally better.

Can you add an SSD to a PS4? There should be some significant improvements if you can. On a computer it makes a MASSIVE difference in terms of boot up and load times.

Will not be buying a new PS4 just for a larger hard drive and it will not be more powerful. PS4 today will play the same games the same way as the PS4 slim, or whatever models they come out with.

Hello everyone, I realize its been over a year since I posted in this lovely forum. I've been overseas over the past year or so, but I've returned and will be getting the 1t. Looking for online gamers as well gang, I.d possumkitten. My ex named it, I know, it's silly. Hope you've all been well, regards, Adam.

Decided to finally Google this so we all can see. There seems to be no significant gains from SSD over HDD. Yes, it is a little faster but we are talking about the amount of time it takes you to sip your Mountain Dew or scratch your crotch. So I don't feel it's worth the cost to shave off a few seconds in load and boot times. Not to mention you would fill an SSD rather quickly in today's gaming age with digital downloads and the size of installs today.
