WiFi or Ethernet?

Hi guys,

recently I'm having troubles with the connection while I play online in multiplayer mode.

I connect to PSN with a Netgear Modem/Router via Wi-Fi. My DSL speed is around 7Mbps in download and 400Kbps in upload. At home I'm not the only one connected to the wi-fi network but often my sons use Youtube and my wife uses Whatsapp and such.

The question is: if I connect my Modem to my PS4 directly with a cable, not using wi-fi anymore, it could solve the problem?

Well you are still sharing the connection either way right? So I doubt it will be faster.
AFAIK using ethernet connection would just perhaps provide a more 'stable and/or reliable' connection.
Still,its worth a shot anyway right? Why not try anyway and see.

Yes I will try it Oberon. The problem is that my home is quite big so if I move my modem close to the PS, which is located in one edge of my home, for sure some parts of the area will not be covered by the wifi signal. Before buying one of those amplifiers, I wanted to be sure that this is the correct method

Before moving your modem, why not move the PS4? Connect to a smaller TV or monitor or something like that. Go the easy route first, move the PS4 to the modem, direct connect. Try playing that way and see if you are getting the same results as when you are on wifi.

As simple as intelligent. I will buy a present for my wife so she will let me use our main TV which is located close to the modem :rofl

Most routers have some advanced setting that allow you to assign a specific IP address (device) as having priority. If connecting via Ethernet does not solve your problems, it might be worth a try to set your PS4's IP as priority in the router.
