Will it be okay to just dive in without playing previous games?

Unfortunately the other games are just too dated for me to enjoy. I'm hoping that KH3 will be a good introduction, and show me why everyone loves the series.

Well yes and no... it's a very story driven game, and this isn't a n introduction. But you can find the previous stories online if you look. I once saw a good youtube video that was an hour long that explained the story so far, could be worth a watch before you start playing.

I'm sure they will give some sort of introduction to let you know what is going on, but I would definitely recommend playing the previous 2 Playstation games at least. They have both been released as HD versions on the PS3 and these hold up really well and are great fun.

The HD versions don't feel too dated.... Definitely at least rwad up on the story because it gets goddamn ridiculously confusing after awhile.
